Just what I needed
Cuts through wood like butter. Make sure you run it across the wood steady and you'll get good results.Really great product for its price point.looking forward to using it for other jobs in the future. This tool is a great addition to my tool-set.

This is perfect for around the house projects
This was perfect for cutting out the hinges on slab doors. It doesn't come with a blade so you will need one. I wouldn't want to use this in a commercial setting. This is perfect for any home project. A controlled stay hand will be the key as with any router. This thing does have the power to chew up some wood quick. I was able to finish the hinges on two slab doors in just a couple minutes. Save money pick this thing up and don't rush through your project.

Cheap compact router, spindle not square to base, spindle gets hot but works
It takes a while to setup router bits and greatly increases your productivity if you have a couple of routers set up for each operation. I thought perhaps I could buy a bunch of these $30 routers and have one set up for different round-over bits and maybe one for a trim bit. But probably worth spending a little more unless your tolerance requirements aren't very high. The motor gets pretty hot quickly so this is best for short duration operations. The motor and spindle appear to have decent machining, but the spindle doesn't secure very well (really have to crank it down and it still slips occasionally). The clamp on base is the worst feature - no depth stop or markings on mine, but that isn't bad if you are going to set this one time and forget about it. The problem is the base isn't square to the spindle and it changes every time you clamp/unclamp it. So if you are using this with a pattern cutting bit, you aren't going to get straight cuts. With a round-over bit, the depth you get will depend upon which side of the router you use. This is the worst issue for me. I'll use it for putting a rough radius on construction framing but would not have bought it if I'd realized how bad this base is.The accessories are really crude: a cast zinc roller guide and sheet metal fence. They attach to the clamp on base with a thumb screw. I had to use a file to knock down the plastic casting burrs on the thumb screw and run a M6x1.0 mm tap into the base to get the thumb screw to work - not that I am likely to ever use these guides, but it's nice to store the thumb screw on the base and it also provides a visual reference of which side is the approximately correct depth if nothing slips.Lastly, the base plate has two clear plastic pieces with a hollow between them. As you can see in the picture, it quickly fills with sawdust eliminating any view that the clear plastic provided. The dust in the picture is after routing a 3/8" round-over bead in a 4' length of pine.If you need a really cheap router and are only going to use it for short periods and don't require precision depth or squareness to the base this might be worth $30. I'm not going to return it, but if you happen to get to an outlet mall that has a tool outlet, the orange brand of palm/trim router is often on sale refurbished for a similar price and unlike this one, has variable speed, runs cool, the base is square with precision depth stop the spindle works, and the fence is nice. Or pick up routers at garage sales (harder to find them at garage sales with all their accessories and also hard to find the compact/easy to store trim routers).

Its great. The bits cost almost as much as this thing.
Was missing a knob for the adjustment and at first thought I needed it but turns out I didn't. The company responded within like 10 mins to resolve the issue. Offered a cash replacement for the knob but again, don't even need it. It cuts great. Have done two countertops tonight and can't find a complaint. Maybe the people complaining about heat are running it for bigger jobs or extended time, but to cut laminate formica countertops this thing is awesome. I can think of a lot of things to use it for now. Product 5 stars, company support 10 stars. And I'm a real guy from Florida, not one of the fake amazon reviews you read about.

Junk — do not buy
I have a few budget power tools which work fine, but this one is a bust. No instructions, just a leaflet with safety precautions — which is ironic because not only did this item die after just a minute or two of use, it gave me a big shock when I picked it up! Luckily, it didn’t affect my home’s electricity.

You get what you pay for
This router is not worth it, didn't cut the wood, it ripped it, the power is too low to cut through much. I feel if you use a, 1 inch soft wood, it may be ok, but for anything else, not enough power! I do not recommend.

Palm Router
This is a useful entry level tool and is very good value for money. Also as palm routers are not popular tools my local stores had no stock. So it was nice to have Amazon step up.
