Exactly what you need to fix spinning door lock
I have been waiting to review this item. Car lock broke and my husband called me in a panic thinking we would have to bring to dealer and pay for new clicker and have door lock fixed etc. I found out about the cylinder replacement through YouTube and proceeded to purchase this item. The parts arrived as expected. No instructions though so back to YouTube for DIY videos. The parts are so far working great it's just the process of replacing the parts that is difficult. I will definitely buy from this seller in the future. I just hope I won't need to be a repeat customer!

Inexpensive fix, but probably not for the mechanically inept.
The components fit perfectly and appear to be made to a similar standard as oem. This is a cheap fix but be warned, if your not mechanically incline, get someone else to disassemble and reassemble as the process is arduous for even the skilled.

Works good-hope youโre mechanically inclined!
This is a great little kit to fix a common problem with the E-46. Everything fit well except the spring. I ended up using my old spring. Theirs was too stiff. I have had 35 year experience restoring old sports cars and motorcycles and feel I am pretty good at it. What I thought would be an easy half hour fix took me 1 hour to finish. I had a lot of trouble winding the spring back and ended up using my old spring that was shorter. This kit comes with no directions but there are some good u-tube videos that really help, the first will tell you how to remove the lock from the car, just type in the words โremove e-46 door lockโ the second will help you with taking the lock apart. Just type in โE46 E90 Door Lock Repair Kit DIY Tutorialโ Also remember the door will not lock when it is open! I would have saved 10 minutes if I had remembered this. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of no directions, and a spring that is too long.

Good Customer Service
RegulatorFix stands by their product. I ordered one and received it within a week, and installed it in my 2003 325i with the help of a few youtube videos. I immediately noticed that the lock cylinder was tough to turn, but it worked. A few weeks later, the lock failed. I emailed RegulatorFix, and they sent out a whole new kit, free of charge. I installed it and it works flawlessly. Kudos RegulatorFix!

Too Many Imperfections Rendered It Usless
The process does not take long maybe 30-45 mins, make sure you grease the parts during install to prolong the life of the moving parts. Plenty of videos to show the process. I have done three replacements of these parts, with each lasting about a year, previous parts were bought online elsewhere. To the product review. Every piece had imperfections that made this product useless. The bottom three pronged plate did not fit. The middle prong by the base was wider than the old piece so it did not fit the grooves, I had to use reuse the old base. The middle two prong piece was wider in certain spots and did not fit, this is the piece that usually breaks. I had to file down all the imperfections make it fit. Also the locking wafer was smaller in diameter than the old piece, approximately 2mm smaller, which makes is useless had to reuse the old one. Lastly the actuator was just cockeyed enough that it would trigger the unlock after locking the door with the key. It would just unlock as soon as your key returns to the center position. So I am pretty much back to where I started with an in-op lock.

Saved a Huge amount of money fixing it myself!
This replacement part kit worked very very well for my 2002 BMW M3. Save me a ton of money and was only a little bit tricky to put together because of a spring that you had to compress in a very careful way. That said, start to finish was 20 minutes.!!

Good price, quick delivery, no instructions, one part broken
Thankfully the lock assembly I was rebuilding only needed a few of the parts replaced, and the delivered one that was broken had the original from my lock still in working order. But if it hadn't that would have really complicated my lock rebuild job, waiting for a replacement rebuild kit to arrive. Also, no instructions, so expect to Google and YouTube for the answer. In the end I was over thinking it. Everything except the spring is straight forward. Still not sure if I tensioned the spring properly on the rebuild.

Great option that the dealer willNever tell you about.
I found out about this after paying 230$ non refundable to BMW and having to wait 5 weeks for it to ship from Germany!
