Great Upgrade For My Squier Strat
I got the "black" option, with the black pickup covers and knobs, for my silver Squier Affinity Strat. The guitar originally came with a white pickguard, white pickup covers and knobs. The black looks so good against the silver body! Honestly, I'm not very handy, but within the space of an hour, I had this pre-wired pickguard installed and working just fine. I actually didn't un-solder or re-solder anything. When removing the old guard, I was careful to leave a generous length of wire remaining at each of the three locations where I needed to "snip" the already-existing connections in order to free up and remove the old guard-- these would be the positive (white) and negative (black) wires connected to the guitar's output jack, and also the black ground wire that runs back to the tremolo claw. I then matched up the two black wires and one white wire (extending from the new unit) with their "counterpart wires" running off the guitar's output jack (1 black, 1 white) and tremolo claw grounding point (1 black), carefully stripped back sufficient insulation to be able to twist each matching pair together securely, and wrapped each of those three connections with black electrical tape. I then put the new guard in place, being careful to keep all of my wire connections free from undue stress, and screwed it on; it fit nicely. I do realize that soldering skills would have come in very handy here, but I figured that once the new guard was securely in place, my "electrical tape" connections weren't goin' anywhere, so what the heck. I used the Squier this afternoon to do a solo gig at a local memory care facility, paired up with my old super-portable Roland Cube Street amplifier. Just one guitar, one voice. Sixties and seventies stuff that I grew up loving. It turned out good, and my newly upgraded Squier sounded really nice! Seems like I tend to stay parked on either the neck pickup (by itself) or the bridge pickup (by itself), depending on the song, and both of those positions sounded really good! Definitely more lively and well-defined than the original pickups. I don't often use the middle position or either of the "combination" positions-- just personal preference (although all of them sound as they should). I'm very happy with this product!

Great for the price
Great kit for the price. I didn't use the actual guard so I don't know if the holes lined up or not. Pickups sound ok and good enough for my most display piece.

Did the job... Well... Kinda.
I'll start by saying this thing looks great on the guitar. Very sharp. Very classy. BUT. The pickups sound thin. And not the good kind of classic twangy strat type of thin. Just bad thin. Now it is worth noting that it is a pretty affordable product, but I did expect a little bit more in the sound quality department. That being said, the included pots and switch work beautifully, and I didn't notice any tone loss when rolling off the volume. And the included wiring is pretty well done. Hence the rating. The only thing I don't like is the pickups themselves. I'll probably end up throwing some Dragonfires in or something.

Not for Behringer iAxe 393, but . . .
I have an old iAxe 393 that I use as my "I don't care" guitar. The other day I wonked my volume pot and decided to swap out the whole pick guard with a loaded one as a project. The reviews on this one were good, especially for the price so I went ahead and bought it. I just finished installing it. This did not just drop in. I had to modify the he'll out of the cavity and a little bit on the pick guard as well. Also, only one screw hole matched so there was drilling too. All I can say is that it was worth it. I am amazed at how good this sounds and how variable the pots are. The pickups have great output for what I play which is mostly ambient but I tried some rock and blues effects too and was impressed. For the money, you can't go wrong. If it actually fits your guitar, you could be swapped and playing in far less than an hour.

Looks good. Great deal.
I think only one or two holes lined up on my stratocaster body. The guard still covers all the old holes so I filled them and touched them up with black paint. Other than that the guard looks nice. The selector switch is nice and snappy and the pickups have a nice clean sound for blues. Awesome deal.

Beautiful pickgaurd
It's a beautiful pickgaurd. I have one SSS and another that's HSS. It's ok sound wise I installed it into a glarry strat body with a new neck for my father as a gift and he loves it. Only issue was the neck pickup tone pot crapped out but I ended up putting full size pots with tex mex fender pickups anyways. So I say for the price it's out, I dig it

Perfect pickup pole piece alignment
I get all of my Stratocaster parts from here because everything always lines up and fits perfectly. My MIM Stratocaster’s FACTORY pickup pole pieces didn’t align on the neck and middle pickups so I bought a loaded pickguard that specifically mentioned the 50/50/52mm pole pieces and they weren’t kidding. Why can’t Fender get this right at the factory.

Cheap in price and quality
You get what you pay for - the pickguard itself is just fine but the electronics were designed to take up space in the recycling bin. The pickups make noise but it's not particularly great, and the potentiometers and wires are the lowest of low quality. This might work as a project pickguard, but unless it's a first guitar to learn on and you don't care about the quality, go with something else.
