Product Testers: 1 albino rex bunny and 1 guinea pig (breed unknown) I've been buying this timothy hay about every 3 weeks for almost a year with no complaints. It's the best deal on Amazon and I've never had any bad experiences - the grass has always been green and fresh. I've tried most of the other options available, but they didn't keep, came in too-small quantities, or the quality was substandard. I will DEFINITELY continue to buy Standlee. Quality - I keep my animals in my bedroom, so it's important that there are no issues with smell or freshness. This hay always smells sweet and fresh, and if I close the top of the box or twist the bag shut there are no lingering odors. NOTE: Like the instructions say, "Remove any uneaten hay if it becomes wet, damp or soiled." If I put any hay directly on the bottom of my guinea pig's cage and it gets wet (urine or spilled drinking water) it tends to stink, so keep it dry (or remove when wet) and everything will be fine! Price - Definitely the best price on Amazon per ounce. If I had access to a car I might consider making a little extra effort to pay less at a feed supply store, but since I live in the city I can't beat the price and quality! Amount - This 15' x 15' x 15' box lasts about three weeks for my bunny and guinea pig, who have unlimited access to the hay. Note that I also supplement their diets with about 3 heads of lettuce/week and daily additions of pellets. If I added more non-hay feed, I could probably stretch this box's lifespan up to 4 or 5 weeks.

I bought this hay for my pet rabbit since I don't really like the quality I buy for him at pet stores (or the price, so expensive!). It is nicely packed to ensure no moulding. The quality is great and my rabbit loves the taste since he now eats twice as much hay as he used to! The price was cheaper than pet store hay and it was delivered to my door (no more going out to buy hay). My only complaint is that my rabbit likes it too much and will probably eat way more hay now making me buy more than I used to so I haven't really saved money in that respect. If you want great quality hay for your pet at a reasonable price then this product is for you!

This is a great product. Far better than kaytee or other brands I've tried for my rabbit. Smells wonderful. Lovely fresh look and isn't filled with sticks. Comes in a big big bag which, once out of the box, fits easily in a 18 gal Rubbermaid tub. Lasts forever and is a very good price with prime free shipping too. Alfalfa was shipped by mistake at first. That was also a nice hay... but not for rabbits. Returned easily and received correct box very quickly. Bun loves it and I highly recommend! UPDATE: I just ordered this again, and it was just as wonderful as the last batch! RESPONSE TO COMPLAINTS ABOUT STEMS (March 3, 2014): I continue to order this hay (or Orchard Grass) for our rabbit and love it. I've seen some reviewers comment that a particular box they ordered was very straw like, with lots of stems. The thing to remember is - this is a FARM PRODUCT. All grasses and forbs that are grown for hay are growing in a field during a season, many fields can be cut twice or even three times in a season. This means that different times in the growing cycle will result in different cuts and contents. The first mowing is likely to be more soft grassy leaves, the last cutting will probably be more mature with stems. This is just part of life when you're getting something farm-direct and not something that's sitting on the shelf for 12 months before you get it home. My suggestion is this: if you feel like a box was too much stem, switch to Orchard Grass for the next box and then come back to Timothy hay next time. Your bun won't be upset about this variety! This is a good product and feel like we're getting the freshest possible hay, short of growing my own :)

It was shipped quickly and packaged very well. Double boxed, note that the outer protective box is about 25.5"x25.5"x16.5"... which made it tricky to pick up when I missed the UPS delivery. The hay itself is fresh! So beautifully green and well preserved. My two rabbits just went bananas when I opened the box, and they loved it. So overall I give it 6 stars - an extra for the bunnies approval. Will order again for sure! Oh one more thing just make sure you have a nice big container to put the hay in that way you can use the boxes for rabbit fortes :)

Beautiful, fresh, green hay! It arrived early, and when I opened the box I noticed it was packed to the brim, but loosely (no longer wrapped in a bale). It is super cost effective for me as well. I will continue to order this, I was not disappointed! Ps. Neither were the bunnies!
