This Actually Works Where All Others Have Failed - Recommend
I was so cynical and was about to pay an installer to put in an external aerial for my DAB tuner. I bought this based on "one last throw of the dice" after endless disappointments/I think we must have tried every type of stand-alone DAB aerial, including amplified versions - all of which have done nothing except cause frustration and gritted teeth. This thing, however, does work. Unaccountably it does so by being a long strip of very ugly black plastic with no amplification that you roll out an attach to a wall (or window). It is not thin plastic like the things you get for a car windscreen - think instead a roll of 1mm or so solid plastic sheeting. But it IS well made - and fits perfectly on standard DAB tuners (the ones that need the same sort of connection as a satellite TV). It also has an adaptor so it can be used on tuners that have the alternative female aerial type socket connection (think TV aerial type leads). So the pluses - (1) chances are you WILL get lots of channels, many of which will be with PERFECT reception. (2) It is very well made/manufactured - it is NOT a piece of junk. The negatives - although it is very well made, it is ugly. You could not put this in a window - it would look horrific and block the light. This is a very large piece of flat plastic attached to a long wire. This said, it does work well on a wall - and if you can hide it behind e.g a hifi so you cannot see it what it looks like will not matter. We have hidden most of it behind some wood panelling.Summary:Functionality: -10/10Quality of manufacture: 10/10Practicality/'looks': 1/10 unless you can hide it somehow. For us, the £20 or so it cost pales into the £200 minimum I was expecting to pay for someone to install an external one. Yes - that would have been prettier, but it would have worked no better. In fact, many of these external ones have their own problems when it rains.Bottom line: RECOMMEND - and highly.Note: Amazon and the manufacturer both will accept this back no questions asked and refund you if it does not work for you so there is absolutely no risk here.

Best indoor aerial I've tried, however it didn't totally fix my poor DAB reception problems
I bought this to improve DAB reception with a Tangent hifi tuner in a room where it's difficult to get a good signal from the BBC National DAB stations. I've tried several other aerials that didn't help. This one is much better but I've come to the conclusion not to expect miracles from any indoor DAB aerial if you have poor signal to begin with. With this antenna I can get down to 20% signal error if I was to hang high in the air in the middle of the room, obviously that's a non-starter. In the end I may have to move the whole hi-fi set up to a different part of the room so I can put the antenna on a wall near the window. Or pay a lot more to install an outdoor aerial. But overall, it's the best indoor option I've found, and it's good value, even if it doesn't totally solve my reception problems.Things to be aware of:- Position and orientation of this antenna are important and you may need to play around with that to get the best results. You might get lucky and be able to fix it under a shelf or hang if down the back of your hifi and still get good reception, but unfortunately that didn't work for me.- It's big and black and it's going to look a bit weird if you can't hide it away somewhere. I'd be prepared to pay a bit more for a transparent plastic version.

Good product
This radio aerial is excellent. It is attached to my window and may not be the best looking item but it works. At first I was disappointed because although it improved FM reception to perfection my Tangent Tuner 2 would only automatically scan local stations on DAB and reception was poor. However , I had one channel that I had managed to tune in with very poor reception with the old dipole aerial which was now playing beautifully. So I tried tuning manually and the reception is now exceptional. I am therefore very pleased and this is a much cheaper solution than having an external aerial installed.

Delivery was poor - aerial is brilliant!
Aerial performs excellently and is totally unobtrusive. I pinned it to the back of my CD stand where it cannot be seen. Signal is impressive. Classic FM was marginal with the supplied aerial, occasionally dropping out and noisy. Crystal clear now. Really pleased with it.1 star given because the courier dumped outside my front door, which is NOT a designated safe place. He then reported that it had been handed to the resident, clearly a lie because (i) I was out all morning and (ii) fortunately, it was still outside my front door when I returned. This is a rare occurrence in all my dealings with Amazon, but still not impressed.

It Works !
This DAB/FM Aerial is a definite improvement on the dipole wire Arial that came with the unit, as its only available in black I had to paint it Magnolia to match the back ground.

NASA design not so sure
Well made but stiff 400mm long Black antenna x 100mm wide strip is a eyesore? White be far better, comes with 15 feet of cable with add on coax connector and F connector fitted as standard is very niceHowever my came it with the FM receiver/ Amp "plastic 'T' aerial" gives a much stronger FM and DAB good Stereo signal alreadySo no matter where i placed the RGTech Monarch aerial on side wall/ front wall/ next to a window wall it at times gave a weak Stereo FM signal (with slight hiss) mono was fine (if you like a mono only radio stationDAB signal i gave up with tryingworse thing is every time you reposition/ move the RGTech Monarch you need to re tune your FM Radio or FM Receiver otherwise it not work as wellDoubt if NASA had much to do with this RGTech Monarch its a bit cheap looking (but its a £20 aerialIt was returned to Amazon i was not impressed

Amazing - five stars all the way!
For years indoor aerials have always been way inferior to having an external mast and aerial, they were almost a joke they were that useless. The only decent one I remember from years ago was the Cobra FM405 indoor aerial that had a built in amplifier for radio signals.I have an external DAB aerial for 2 tuners in the house, but also have a study room downstairs with a flat roof, for which an external aerial is not feasible/appropriate. What I had been using was a home-made device made from about 3 foot of plastic tubing with bits of wire soldered around it forming a loop from top to bottom. It was very good if unsightly.Reading reviews of the Monarch product got me excited enough to buy one, and I really am glad I did. The aerial is more of a flexible strip with a connector at the end to screw into your aerial input on the amp.Using the Monarch I did a new DAB scan and it pulled in so many more stations, as well as improving the signal greatly on previous borderline/temperamental stations where signal was a bit iffy.OK, so it is not as good as an external aerial (I can't pick up Mi Soul for example, but can on the ones feeding off the external aerial), but then it is never going to outperform a dedicated outdoor aerial installation. For the money, this really is the best indoor aerial I have come across in the last 20 years. It's price also is nothing short of outstanding value considering what is does.

Looks good but no improvement
Looked like a well made item, nice and slim and easy to install.Unfortunately, it doesn't work I live in an area where DAB reception is poor so having read the feedback on Amazon decided to give it a try. This aerial didn't make any difference to reception and I would say gave no better result than the standard extending rod ariel that came with the radio.

Funciona bien.

Good antenna and solution for weak signal
Dopo aver provato mille antenne per migliorare la ricezione della mia radio DAB, ho risolto con quest'antenna.La ricezione è molto migliorata e finalmente stabile.
