The Marriott Bed
I would recommend this bed for the money. I travel weekly and stay at Marriott properties because of the quality of their beds. When it was time to replace our current bed at home, this was certainly a bed I wanted to consider. There have been a few comments that the bed at the Marriott appears to be softer than the one that arrives. I also read that ordering the entire Marriott bedding package makes a more comfortable bed. So I did order the bedding directly from Marriott and the bed from Amazon which was $250 cheaper than going directly through Marriott. When the bed arrived within a month (two weeks earlier than promised) it was firmer than the beds at the hotels I visit. However I do believe you need to order the bedding to go with the mattress. After a few days, both my husband and I truly have had the best sleep in years. I have a sore hip which was getting worse from our old mattress and I wake up now with no pain. All the Marriott properties have converted over to the foam mattress so I highly recommended that over the box and spring mattress they still offer. The foam gives firm support and not the sinking feeling you get with other foam mattresses. It also is not to hot which is another complaint of foam mattresses. I would highly recommend if anyone is considering upgrading their current mattress.

Not like the hotel beds. Not even close
Definitely not like the hotel bed, Much more firm. It took 8 weeks to get it. Trying to force myself to adapt but not loving it

Buying a Marriott (Jamison) Mattress After Dec 2014? DON'T....and here's why!
The positive ratings are accurate....but only if you've purchased this bed BEFORE 2014. Now, it's barely worth the money. Here's why.Prior to 2014, the only hotels that I would stay in were the Marriott brand hotels. When it comes to beds I knew that the Fairfield Inns would occasionally have the comfortable Jamison beds, the Staybridges would frequently have some variation of the Jamison mattresses (always comfortable) and the Marriott and Residence Inns would always have the famous Jamison mattresses! Since my career required that I travel, I pretty much know their mattresses! :)Well, last year (Dec 2014) I ordered my mattress from the Marriott.com website. I had the model number of the bed that I wanted because I pretty much harassed the managers of housekeeping at 2 nearby Marriott hotels for this information! At first I called Jamison Mattresses and noticed that the greeting no longer said "Jamison Mattresses" like it did the month before when I called. The person who answered told me that Jamison Mattresses was bought out by another company but they were still selling the REMAINDER of the mattresses that they custom made for the Marriott. They told me that they had a specific number that I needed to call in order to buy it. So I called that number and was forwarded to the Marriott.com website. I specifically asked the people at Marriott.com whether or not they were still selling the Jamison mattresses that they've ALWAYS supplied the hotels with. I was told that they did. I placed my order (which was over 2K) along with the mattress padding and was told that I would receive my bed in 2 weeks. My padding came within 3 days and at the end of about 2 weeks I called to find out when my bed was coming so that I could make arrangements to be here. That's when I was told that there was a "holdup" at the factory and that they were still "making" my mattress! 'Wait. What???? Why would they .....?' At this point I asked them why they were "making" my mattress when Jamison said that they were selling the remainder of the mattresses! Why wasn't I getting a mattress that they'd premade in a warehouse because if this was truly a Marriott mattress then that would mean that they were already made and waiting for an order from one of the Marriott hotels, right? Afterall, I highly doubted that they would wait for a order from the hotel and THEN make over 100 mattresses for them! Well, they then gave me some 'song and dance' about how there wasn't a warehouse that held the mattresses and that they did in fact make the mattresses upon request from each region and that Jamison was going to continue to make their mattresses up until a certain time so it was indeed the same mattress. This sounded suspicious but they already had my money and they kept assuring me that this would be the same mattress so I waited.I think you know where I'm going with this.I eventually got my mattress. I put the mattress pad on it. The tag said that it came from Jamison and although it didn't have the same model number on it, the name of the mattress line was the same. Because it's new, when I laid on it I could tell that it was comfortable but I couldn't tell if it was the same one because obviously the hotel mattresses have been slept on for a longer time and were therefore broken in while this one was not.However, it is now a year later and even though this mattress has been slept on by 2 people every night for 6 months and it still does not feel like the Jamison mattresses that I have slept on when I stayed in Marriott hotels!!Is it comfortable? It's okay.Would I have spent $2000 on it? No.Do I think that they are running a scam at this point? Yes. I think that they didn't bank on the Jamison company selling out to another company and changing the way they've made mattresses. I think that Marriott has made a lot of money off of the mattresses that Jamison has provided them and while they are trying to figure out what other mattresses they're going to use (I heard that they are using Serta mattresses now) they are trying to ride on their previous reputation for having comfortable beds in order to sell the other mattress models that Jamison makes but that the Marriott company never felt were actually comfortable enough to use for their hotels!If you're calling the Marriott number anytime after December 2014 and you speak to a customer service representative, keep in mind that they're going to tell you exactly what was written on their scripts to tell you! They don't really know what it is they are selling you because they are off-site OR they know that they're selling you a Jamison mattress but they know that it's not the same mattresses that the Marriott has purchased from Jamison in the past. The bottom line is that the Marriott Jamison mattress line has fallen and is honestly no longer available to the public.Good luck!

Absolute garbage! Lousy warranty support!
Like so many others, I was excited to have our own Marriott bed! I have a bad back, and really needed a quality mattress. I ordered on shopmariott.com and got the king mattress, and a down comforter. Total cost $1,888. Easily the most I've ever paid for a mattress.The comforter arrived first. My wife immediately noticed that the comforter appeared to be used and washed, the color was off, and also that it didn't smell new. I don't know if it was returned, or a used one from a hotel or ???Then the mattress came. We noticed within 30 days that it seemed that it was developing body impressions on each side. At first it wasn't bad, so we just ignored it. But after 3 months the craters were showing, and the bed was getting to be uncomfortable. At around 4 months, I contacted shopmariott.com and told them we wanted a refund. They simply replied that they had no responsibility for the quality of the mattress (seriously, I guess Marriott isn't too concerned about their public image?), and that I would need to file a claim with Serta/Simmons, the maker of the mattress.I then initiated a claim with Serta, who sent me forms to fill out and asked for a multitude of photos of the mattress, box spring, and frame. I disassembled the bed and took multiple photos and filled out the forms and submitted everything. After a few days they responded saying that because we hadn't purchased a Serta box spring, they weren't going to honor the warranty. What? It even says right on the label that the mattress is made to be used with or without a box spring, so what difference does that make?So in summary, the most expensive bed we've ever purchased, is in fact the worst quality mattress we've ever owned. $1,888 is a lot of money for us to throw away, so we're still sleeping on the bed, and I wake up with an aching back every morning! Thank you Marriott and Serta/ Simmons!Do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from shopmarriott.com because they won't stand behind what they sell. And don't buy a Serta or Simmons mattress because the customer service is non existent.
