Perfect frizz free curls.
I have low porosity hair, medium density and 2C wave/curls. It's been a long journey to find something that will encourage my hair's character without flattening on top or looking more like frizz than curl. I LOVE this stuff. In combination with the bounce.me mouse, I have gosh darn ringlets, no frizz, no crunch, and it lasts all day long. I can blow dry or air dry, both look good. I look like I know what I'm doing with my hair when I use this. These are certainly not generic prices, but it will get me several months of good hair days, worth it, to me.

My favorite curly to wavy hair treatment EVER!
I started using this product, Bounce.Me curl balm, about 2 years ago. I bought it at discounted price on a whim through an Ipsy promotion. But now I can't live without it. It has the best consistency of a few hair balms I had tried. It's a little thick, and when I first opened it to try it I thought it was going to be a marshmallow cream kind of texture. It is a white color from the tube, but it definitely has a looser more wet consistency than marshmallow cream. Mostly I use it on my hair while it is still pretty wet, not quite dripping wet. If my hair isn't wet enough I do add a few drops of water to the balm, just to help it work thorough my hair. This stuff is like magic. I have never had another product work so perfectly and give my fine curly/wavy hair a better staying power. It also gives a nice shine to my ringlets. My curls last so much longer! Before the Curl Balm came into my life hair products would only give me curls that lasted a few hours...tops. I can go basically all day without needing to dig a hair pick out of my purse to revive the body. Years aback I would make it half way through my day and have my hair go flat. I'd have to wet my hands in the bathroom and re-scrunch my curls with some water to revive them. Now when I check my hair in the mirror, it just wows me because this product really keeps my curls looking fresh. And a bonus is this, so if I actually sleep on my curls and cause them to flatten, all it takes is a few fluffs with my hands or hair pick and a fairly good spray with my continuous water mister and that's all I need to revive my curls for a second day. Typically I use a good base of Curl Balm coated on my hands, about a quarter size with a splash or two of water. I put the balm thoroughly on my shoulder length hair, making sure I coat on all sides of my head. (I do also use a light touch of firm gel by Paul Mitchell just at the roots on top my head, and a little Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam scrunched on the back of my hair). I let my hair air dry for about 10 minutes, then diffuse my hair to damp/dry while scrunching and kind of loosening up the cast. The Designme Curl Balm made me love having curly hair again. Seeing that butter yellow Bounce.Me... bottle in my hair product basket... Totally gives me joy! It is truly a game changer and goes just perfectly with my hair prep.

Great product strong smell
Love this! It works really well, a little goes a long way and you just rewet to reactivate. Great value for the size. My curls really look defined and lovely. The smell is a little strong for me and I’m concerned it may attract bugs in the summer.

Design.Me BOUNCE.ME Works after Experimentation
I bought this "Design.Me BOUNCE.ME Curl Balm and Cream" because of the reviews which apparently really matter. So far I am happy with this product and surprised at how big the 8.5 oz. container is. The tube's material even feels good in my hands! If I portion just right this cream will give my curls a light soft bouncy curl. But I have had to experiment by how much to use because my hair is thin, old aged, damaged from perms and highlighting. It is also hard to squeeze out a tiny drop as the tube opening likes to shoot out long portions. But a pea size amount is all my hair can tolerate, or it will get heavy and look wiry. And because of this the "BOUNCE.ME Curl Balm and Cream" is going to last me a very, very, very long time! So, all in all a very nice curl defining product that I recommend.

CRUNCHY Curls
The Design.Me BOUNCE.ME Curl Balm does help activate my wavy hair into curls IF I use a fair amount - resulting in crunchy stiff hair. Does NOT look like the posted before and after pics and is definitely not soft to the touch. Use less - no curls. It is easy to use, light weight and provides frizz control. But it is rather expensive - I've used several products at less than half the cost that did the same thing. I paid the higher price hoping for less crunch - rather disappointed.

Works on wavy-ish hair
I have mostly straight hair that waves, frizzes and curls unevenly if I let it air dry. I'm always on the lookout for products that will shape the wave without looking unkempt, but I find lotion and cream formulas usually heavy enough to pull the curl out. This product created definition higher up the hair shaft, and I was even able to use a diffuser without the usual crazy top layer flyaways. It has a definite 'hold' feel to the touch, but doesn't look wet or stiff. And it was easy to restyle into looser volume in the days before the next wash. A definite winner!

Extremely expensive for 'just ok'
This is a very expensive curl balm - at the time of writing this it's over £40 which is extortionate. I spent, if I recall, a bit under the £30 mark because my hair was in a funk and I was desperate for anything that would work - and even then I think I paid far too much! For context, I'm currently using a £7 curl cream which blows this out of the water. It's not terrible - I've used far worse - but it's also not amazing. The price point is far too high for 'just ok'. It does form a hard cast on hair (which is good for those who want a hard cast) but it is very hard to scrunch the hardness and crispiness out. I don't think it helped with bounce, contrary to the name, and it's very easy to overuse which leads to more lank and weighed down than bouncy. I noticed no real difference to frizz. But on a good day, it made hair look fine - not amazing, not wondrously curly and voluminous, just fine. However, at this (currently rising) price point I really can’t say it’s worth it when there are far better out there.
