Recommend it over the one piece.
The picture of the broken one is the last one piece cowl I installed 6 years ago. It broke while I was changing the wipers. Now this two piece is great. It’s pouring here today and it’s doing exactly what it should. I’m mechanically sound so it took 5 minutes to install. This is how long it took & what you need to do..Total time from unboxing, slicing my finger removing the old one which added a few minutes, getting a bandage & gloves, safety glasses, remove wipers ( make sure to mark where the wipers go so you know where to put it back. If you don’t then it’s a long process of trying to get them in the right position) remove the old cowl, clean the area where the old one was. Pop the new one into place easily & reinstall the wipers. So total time without the bandage, it took 15 minutes. I like it a lot better than the one piece. With the heat in South Georgia & then a cool winter this one has room to expand & contract. Yes you can see the seam if you’re looking at it. I took a photo from 5 feet in front of the car & you can see that it’s a nice fit. I used a small amount of silicone where the two pieces met just so the one that overlaps doesn’t eventually start to lift up after being in the sun. I highly recommend using a flexible glue @ that seam. It does look like it could do that but that’s just my opinion on what I see. I would recommend this to anyone with a 2002 Mustang. I can’t comment on any other year because this is the only one I’ve done. I can’t imagine the 99-04 model being any harder to install. This is a long review because I added the steps to show that it’s easy to do. It might take someone 30 minutes if you’re not used to working on vehicles. It’s an easy DIY project. Looks great as well.

Good Replacement at a Fraction of the Cost of an OEM Cowl
I'm in the process of restoring my 2000 Mustang and getting it ready to be painted. Like many others, my car's Windshield Wiper Cowl is cracked and glued and I got tired of looking at it. I was hesitant about buying this cowl based on the reviews that say the center will not sit flush. However, I am glad I did and the center is not that bad at all. Installation is simple and the only tool you need is a flat blade screwdriver.Lift the windshield wipers and pull on the small metal tab to release the wipers. Open the hood and remove the thick weatherstrip. Remove the push pins holding the cowl vent using a flat blade to gently pry them out. Partially close the hood and start prying the old cowl cover off slowly. If it is like mine it will crack even more once you start to remove it. Once the clips are released, very carefully turn the old cowl over and push the small plastic tabs to release the windshield washer spray nozzles from the cowl. Once the spray nozzles are loose carefully pull the nozzles out of the windshield washer tubes and remove the tube from the old cowl. If you lightly twist and turn the nozzles they should come free from the tubes with little to no problem. Once the old cowl removed look for remnants of broken plastic and in my case loose metal clips from where the old brittle plastic snapped in.The new cowl is two pieces. Look at both sides carefully. One side will have a small lip near the center and the other side of the cowl will fit over this lip. In my case the driver side has a small lip and a center pin so I started by installing the driver side first after I installed the washer sprayer and tubing. Start by placing the cowl closest to the door and then slowly lay it down towards the center of the car. Make sure you don't crush the windshield washer tubing as the new cowl does not have a place to clip in the tubing like the old cowl. This isn't a big issue but just be careful when routing the tubing and snapping in the cowl. Once the driver side cowl is snapped in prepare the other side by inserting the windshield washer spray nozzle and tubing and then place the cowl closest to the door and slowly lay it down towards the center of the car. Carefully push down on both sides of the cowl closest to the windshield to ensure all the clips snap in. Open the hood and reinstall the push pins. The cowl comes with a bag of push pins but I found the original ones were smaller and easier to work with. Replace the thick weather stripping and close the hood. Put the windshield wipers back on and the job is finished. If you know exactly how you are going to the attack the job it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to complete. In my opinion this Windshield Wiper Cowl Vent is a really nice replacement at a fraction of the cost of the original. The center where the two panels match up isn't as bad as I thought and if it does separate, which I doubt, I will use a little silicon adhesive to seal the joint. Overall, this a good and cost effective replacement for that old and brittle windshield wiper vent cowl.

Perfect Fit & Great Price
The Cowl Vent on my Mustang, like most, dry rotted and basically shattered. Looking around - I found 1 piece items that were just too expensive. When I saw this product, I figured I would give it a try. I wasn't concerned with the 2 pieces - I wanted a better price for a new product. I received the Cowl Vent in super fast timing/shipping and when I installed, it slid in like a glove - no problems!! Looks great, paid a good price for it and my '03 Mustang finally doesn't look trashy anymore!! Great product - highly recommend!

Installed it on my 2001 GT Convertible 4/17/15. Mounting spots lined up exact and it fits and looks great. The split line lines up straight and even and is hardly noticeable. Finish on it very nice and looks factory original. Great that it came with all new mounting hardware also as most of my hardware from the old one was bad. Only parts needed were the wiper fluid nozzles from old one. Very happy with this part especially as a new 1 piece unit is 3 times more expensive. Great part - thanks.
