Phenomenal Quality, Incredible Value — Beyerdynamic’s Headphones Command Respect
Probably the Highest Quality Headphones You Can Get for the Price — PeriodI previously owned the DT 880s and used them daily, even while riding my bike in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, I accidentally pulled the cord too hard and broke it. Since switching to the DT 990 Pro 80 Ohm, I no longer wear headphones while biking—hahaha!Key Features:Superior Frequency Response: Raw, clear, and accurate sound perfect for referencing, mixing, and mastering.Impedance & Power: Works well with phones and laptops, but for best performance, use with an audio interface or amplifier.Comfort: Extremely comfortable for long sessions—even while sweating. Comparable to the DT 880 Pros.Open-Back Design: Great for general listening and studio work, but not recommended for vocal recording due to sound leakage that may bleed into microphones. Beginners should research this before purchasing.Sound Quality:The DT 990 Pro delivers incredibly accurate sound—more accurate than my Yamaha HS4 monitors! No artificial boosting, just pure and honest audio.Value & Build:Priced between $120–$200 (market dependent), you won’t find better quality at this price point unless Beyerdynamic releases something new.The cable is not detachable, which probably preserves audio quality, but a detachable cable might be convenient for some users.Final Thoughts:Beyerdynamic earned this review by making a phenomenal product. I don’t usually leave reviews because I prefer not to influence people’s choices unless asked, but these headphones blew me away. Beyerdynamic is a pro-consumer brand that delivers exceptional quality at a fair price. If you want top-tier headphones without breaking the bank, these are the gold standard.

Right for the price
These are my first over ear cans. I usually like to listen to music/Tv with speakers, but I use these when I need to keep the volume down and don't need to walk around. They are comfortable with soft cups, but I start to feel them after a few hours. The open back design is nice, less claustrophobic so to speak, but still with enough bass to be satisfying and the highs are crisp and clear. I won't be traveling with these so I don't need BT or worry about disturbing someone sitting next to me. I use a headphone amp and it makes a big difference in the sound. I bought these as refurbished and they look new and function like new. Overall, the price is right for what you get.

Should be 5 stars...but...
In its price range, these are among the best, according to years and years of accolades from users...and I agree. Why not 5 stars ? ...because the cord needs to be of the type that plugs into the ear cup...everyything else is great. I looked at many reviews and purchased some competing headphones....but none sounded as neutral with music as these.

Nice sound but poor design for the slider
I have had these for a couple years now and the sound is great. I wear glasses and the pads that come with it are not comfortable so had to get memory foam replacements that fixed that, though they did change the sound a bit, but not enough to worsen them for me. The big, and I mean BIG problem for me is the sliders are utter CRAP. I have a large head and only a few months the sliders broke. I order a replacement pair (old version) and those broke after only a few months before. This seems to be a known problem and I was recommended to get the 3D printed version that is billed as a superior replacement. 3 pair of those later, all de laminated a few months later. I found out that Beyerdimanic had updated the sliders. I bought these because they were supposed to be better and last longer. This proved to be untrue. it has only been a few months and they are already cracking pretty bad. I love the sound but sadly I can no longer afford to repair these. With the initial price and now at least 6 slider kit, 3 of which were official at over $30 per kit I could have bought a much higher tier set. So if you have to use these at the maximum extension on the adjusters you will likely have the same issue. The design buts the end of the slide mechanism right at the plastic and acts as a fulcrum and cause too much pressure for any existing slider to work without breaking. Save your money and get something that will last longer without constant need of repair. I was tempted to go to the DT900 but fear that it would fair no better and the increase in cost is just too much to risk
