Nancy finds herself a Christmas mystery while at a ski resort in this super special eighteenth book of the Nancy Drew Diaries series, a fresh approach to the classic mystery series. Nancy is spending her winter vacation at the most beautiful ski resort in Montana. Everything looks perfect, from the spectacular mountain views to the cozy rooms inside complete with fireplaces and holiday decorations. Unfortunately, not all is as jolly as it seems. Things started to go wrong on her very first day; she hits a bad patch of ice on a run down the slopes and breaks her leg. Then a doctor decides she needs a giant cast and lots of bed rest. It’s been a week of unfortunate events for rest of the resort too: there was a sabotaged opening dinner, multiple hotel room break-ins, and a dangerous trap set for the star chef. And if Nancy thought things couldn’t get any worse, a giant storm is heading her way and may just snow everyone in for days. Trapped in a hotel with someone bent on destruction? Cast or no cast, this sleuth is on the case. It’s almost Christmas and both guests and staff are starting to panic. With the odds stacked against her, can Nancy solve these crimes in time to save the holiday season? Or is this one Yuletide she’ll wish to forget? Review: a new day - I loved this story so many twists and turns. I hope the rest are this good. Now for my next read. Review: Always a blast - I love when the Drews and Hardy solve cases together! A snowy good book on a 90*F day. Well done

Engaging and relevant
This is a fabulous addition to the Nancy Drew Diaries series. I don't want to put spoilers in my review, so suffice it to say that there are some wonderful surprises, while at the same time the book is completely faithful to the smart, brave Nancy Drew we all know and love. I love how this series respects young readers by expecting them to keep up with complex plots.

Nancy is Nancy again(Mostly)!
Finally got around to finishing this! This is a very good ND book! A reviewer says there is homosexuality and swearing in this book, but there's none of that. Only bad word that is said once in this book is hell. But anyways, I was glad to see Nancy not scared and weak in this one after what happened to her in the last book. She is smart, very knowledgeable, brave, and very determined to solve the mystery in this one. Unfortunately though, she still has a characteristic from the last book, being scared of horror movies. Why? I also didn't really like what Nancy said and/or thought here and there, it didn't seem like Nancy. But I'm glad to see most of her true character traits are here in this book. But I noticed there's a lot of spelling errors in this book. Why is that? However, the mystery and action was suspenseful and the characters were pretty great, my favorite being the chef. There was quite a surprise in the middle and I was quite pleased to see Nancy work with these two individuals. Their interactions together were great. Overall, this is a very good book with a nice ending, I can see how much work the publishers put into this book, the beautiful jacket, red snowflake illustrated end-papers, illustrated board book cover, and a 300+ page story. I hope this is a sign of good things for Nancy and this series, and that she'll continue being smart, brave, and determined. 4 stars.

merry christmas from nancy drew
incredible modern throwback book,in the new "diaries" series,#18. beautiful xmas colored hardback plus dust jacket that has non-flaking 3-D glitter! and scenic wintry coverart. ~340 pages of story in 'larger' print style. story--I don't remember ever reading a Nancy drew book that wasn't any good. the' winter/snow ' ones were always standouts.this is the same .only book negatives are :1-there's no series # on the spine,2-no frontispiece or inner artwork not even a simple line drawing . if you're artistic you might add these on your own! this is still an easy 5* book! because of the 2 negatives this book is spectacular instead of legendary.
