Milliard Removable Waterproof Non-Slip Dog Bed Replacement Cover (X-Large)

This review is for the extra large cover only. NOT the bed. We got a puppy. In the realm of poor choices, adding a puppy to a household with three kids two cats and 20 fish, may be the worst decision ever. But that's another story. With a puppy comes all sorts of chewing, peeing and training. It like having a baby. A baby that can run, chew, dig, and go to the bathroom in places you may not find for days. We got lots of chew toys, and a crate, and some dog beds and like 5 baby gates, amongst other things. This cover was around our third or fourth attempt at a bed for our puppy. We bought a $60 memory foam bed from Petsmart. It lasted about 10 days. We tried a $30 memory foam bed from Bed Bath and Your Mom. It lasted about a week. We bought a $11 bed we found in the checkout aisle at Ace Hardware. We actually still have that bed. THE KEY WITH PUPPY BEDS IS FINDING ONE THAT IS WASHABLE. They are like filthy little animals. Literally. Cute, but filthy. They eat, chew and void. Then repeat. While slightly older dogs may naturally not want to go in their crate, PUPPIES DON'T CARE when where or how many times they go. Any they will chew their beds up and then pee on the stuffing. So after 2 and a half beds, I got a theory. Washable. Bed. I'm not an idiot. You can't fool me four times. I bought this bed and filled it with the remnants of the previous non washable and very chewable beds. Seriously. I did. The cover now holds the memory foam from the Petsmart bed and the stuffing from the Bed Bath etc. bed. I actually went back to BB & B and bought two king sized zippered pillow case covers for $5 and stuffed the stuffing into them. And then I added one more pillow we had lying around the house. By this time, our little angel wasn't peeing on everything as often as before. She still chews, so we just put some old fleece blanket and bath towels in her crate. But we leave this magical, washable cover, stuffed with a hundred bucks worth of fallen soldier dog bed carcasses (and an old pillow) lying in our living room and our puppy loves this bed. I've washed it twice and have had no issues with pilling or beads falling off, as mentioned in another post. It's held together well. It's soft, but not weak, and it has a rubber undercoating under the top layer that is pretty waterproof. It zips open on three sides, making stuffing and un-stuffing easy. It doesn't slide around on the hardwood floors. Overall, it's the cheapest of all the beds I've bought (again, I only bought the extra large cover, not the bed), and has lasted four times longer than any of the previous ones.

This was an excellent buy. I used it to put two dog beds into, one foam covered with vinyl and the cedar filled bag typically found in the cheap dog beds. It made a bed about 4 inches tall and super comfy (our 70lb Golden retriever concurs) The only problem is that I really needed a Large instead of an extra large but that wasn't available. The cover seems durable, the bottom is water proof and has rubbery dots that keep it from sliding around on our hard floors. The top is super soft and easy to clean (either spot cleaning or using the vacuum brush attachment for hair, which doesn't stick down in the fabric. I love that the zipper goes around three sides, instead of just one side where you have to shove everything in like a pillowcase. It makes removing it for washing easy, and putting it back together MUCH easier that the ones that open only on one end. Note for seller: please make available the large size on Amazon! I will be purchasing another to make a second bed for our daughter's room in the hopes our pup will stop sneaking into her bed at night. Good luck, right?

I can’t comment on ease of cleaning or durability yet. I just got this out of the package and put on the bed. We’ve had an egg crate dog bed for several years which had a zip off waterproof cover. Last time I washed it, the zipper broke. I couldn’t find any covers that exactly fit the bed. Our dog loves the bed so I didn’t want to throw the whole thing out. I finally found this Milliard cover on Amazon. It had excellent reviews and the price was great. I like the way it is made- very soft on top, even tho I usually throw a dog blanket over it. I had to cut 5 inches off the length of the bed (it was an xl) and then it fit perfectly! Now it’s a Large (40x35x4). Our rescue boxer/pit bull mix fits very comfortably on it! It is very easy to put on the bed as the zipper unzips around 2 whole sides. Very happy with this purchase!

This is a good cover. It was well made with no loose stitching or loose seams. The zipper goes around three sides and this makes it really easy to insert and remove any pillows, foam padding, etc that you use for your dog beds. I use 2 to 3 layers of gel infused foam pads and it's really easy to fill and remove them from this cover. I have washed and dried this cover several times and it always comes out like new, without shrinking or misshaped. The only drawback is the plastic zipper. It's the type of plastic zipper with the small teeth and it has separated a couple times in the middle and come open. Moving the zipper past the separated part and then moving it back over will bring the teeth of the zip back together, but I'd rather not have it separate in the first place. A metal zip, or a plastic one with larger teeth I believe would make this product better.

The covering feels soft and fits perfectly on our pet's orthopedic mattress. The zippered covering is easy to put on and take off and our senior dog likes sleeping on her new bed and can easily get comfortable. The covering doesn't wrinkle up or move out of position. As far as being leak proof, that hasn't been tested yet and I do keep a coverlet over the bedding to keep it clean longer, though it isn't leak proof. So far, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a second covering from this seller and the price is fair. It does have rubbery nubs on the bottom of the cover which helps to keep it in place. You may not get a lot of color choices, but for the quality of this well made item, it works just fine.

I've bought 4 of these at various times over the past years. One has had the zipper stop working but it is still usable. I gave it 4 stars because the black dots fall off in the washer and/or dryer. I have found that my older ones have now lost all the dots so it's no longer a problem. What are the dots for anyway? I've washed these covers many times, have two small dogs, and they hold up well. I would not hesitate to buy more. Update: Well it's 4 years later and I still have 4 of these dog bed covers. I can testify they are waterproof, we've had urine and vomit and nothing came through the covers! I'm now ordering 2 more. I washed all 4 today and found one of my dogs will NOT sleep in her bed because the cover is missing. Ha-ha. All the dots have fallen off as these covers have been washed many, many times but only one has a broken zipper.

Love how beautifully these covers fit our Brindle size Medium dog bed. I don't know why more companies don't sell replacement covers... This cover is very soft, as advertised, waterproof, washes beautifully and fits our existing bed like a dream. Other reviewers have commented about the loss of the non-slip nubbies on the bottom of the cover during washing. We lost a few in the washer/dryer, but it's not a problem for us. Our main issue is with durability. It should be noted that her dog bed is in her crate and used for overnight sleeping only; she does not play on it. I have repaired this cover many, many times. It seems as though it is easily 'sliced' or 'punctured' by our dog standing on the bed. (Yes, we take care of her nails.) I posted pics of the multiple repairs we've done on this bed. We were able to fix early, small punctures (tiny 'slices') with clear duct tape on the reverse side of the top of the bed. They held well and we continued to use the cover. Apparently, this last time I didn't get to a small slice quickly enough and she had herself a little party while we were sleeping. This repair was much larger and an actual hole, not a slice. This cover has now been relegated to the car bed (less used.) All in all, we got under 3.5 months out of this cover. Still cheaper than replacing the whole bed, but in my opinion, we should have been able to expect better durability.

I am including my review for the dog bed that this cover goes with. It is a great cover and has a backing that prevents water from getting through to the mattress. It washes up great and is as good as new after washing. I recommend this cover! The following is my review for the dog bed that this cover goes with! My pug had a rough life before we took him into our family. At some point, he was hit by a car and has broken hip (which was operated on) but has painful arthritis AND one front leg was broken and never addressed! His leg is now a deformed shape and makes it difficult for him to lay comfortably. He is such a good boy and he really enjoys a good nap. Since he can't get up on the bed or the couch on his own, I wanted to get him a really comfortable dog bed. I have tried so many different beds, including orthopedic beds, but for some reason, he didn't choose any of them on his own when he wanted to lay down. If the bed doesn't have good support, his body (especially his deformed elbow) would be able to hit the floor, even on the "memory foam" beds HOWEVER, he loves this dog bed!! He can sit and lay down on it for hours! Even overnight. I went back to purchase a second bed, but they were sold out for the holidays.......I am going to get one for every room in our house. It is a great price compared to any of the other orthopedic dog beds too! My female pug has just turned 13 years old and she has started to stay on the bed during the day instead of sitting on the couch. It is a really comfortable bed for them. It has all the support necessary to support their bodies and keep them from sinking down to the floor, but still allows enough "give" to hold their bodies comfortably suspended on the bed. This size bed is large enough for two pugs to be on it together!

Very pleased with this dog bed and spare cover. Our large, creaky 13 /2 year old dalmatian is even more pleased. He can stretch out and gets really comfortable. We should have bought the bed a lot sooner.

I had bought a beautiful bed at Wal-Mart that started tearing and losing foam very quickly, So, I bought this and I'm very pleased with this purchase. The size was a little different than the bed I have, but finally fit real well. It looks like I bought a new bed. Great quality and very easy to clean. I recommend this item and seller strongly !

Excelente calidad y fácil de lavar

I used it to cover my dogs bed as well as his crate pad (I have 2). I usually wash the covers at least once a month and have had no issues. They are easy to put on and take off and stand up to his scratching as he fluffs up his bedding. He is a Sheepdog.
