Excellent for the price

I am used to buying a new Kettle every couple of years as we live in a hardwater area so I am an experienced kettle buyer . This is the first one I ever purchased which i threw away within 24 hours. It smelt badly as if an electrical fault which stank out the kitchen. The taste was foul as it tasted of pure plastic as if plastic was being burned in to the water . If I could give no stars I would. I have had plastic kettles from elsewhere before which do not have this fault and it was appalling . I noticed the area around the element was going brown as if burning and assume this was melting the plastic giving the awful smell and taste . I think to be so bad its likely toxic and dangerous . I could not be bothered with the hassle of returning and simply threw away within 24 hours so it was an utter waste of money

Wanted a cheap kettle to take to the office and this fits the bill and does the job. The quality is good for the price.

Cheap dos ethe job but after 2 months started playing up not turning on when sat correctly Not sure if it is a one-off problem or not.

1.7 litres is of course a normal size. I like the fact that it is clear on both sides so you can see how much water is available for use. Easy to clean and easy to refill with water. Very impressed by the price. Would definitely buy again.

Despite not being able to boil water twice in a row without first waiting for the kettle to cool down it worked okay for exactly three months before the on off switch failed, preventing any further use.

Bought it to boil water, which it does very well.
