The Wailing

The Wailing. I am a horror genre fan. The Wailing is first of all, beautifully shot and switches mood at different points, thereby building suspense and later, a sense of dread. One of the movie's great achievements is that the trajectory of the story and action mirrors the confusion sowed by the supernatural entities in the movie, involving the viewer directly in the emotions of the characters.

One of the best movies ever made

The Wailing is sublime. An extraordinary movie that consolidates South Korea's considerable movie prowess. Nothing in the first not entirely convincing hour or so can prepare you for the thrills that unfold in the remainder of this film. The suspense, energy, pacing, dynamics and performances are all sublime and the tension in the final 15 minutes is really exhilarating.

I went into this having watched numerous Korean/Japanese horror /thrillers so I pretty much knew what to expect. Great acting and a interesting if rather long and convoluted story. Could perhaps have been a little shorter and I'm not convinced the Korean police talk to each other in such demeaning ways. But on the whole worth a watch if you are prepared for two and half hours of subtitles.

Saw this on Netflix and had to have it in my collection. It is just a tad long, but it's worth the watch.

Japan makes some of the best horror films 🎥 The wailing instantly became a classic in my collection it’s scary , funny , thrilling very entertaining ! It looked & sounded excellent both in blu ray & 4k . Remember folks unless you understand Japanese this is an English subtitles film for us English speaking folks. Sound offerings are 5.1 DTS-HD-MSTR for the blu ray & Dolby Atmos for the 4k UHD disc. Really nice case with this film the plastic sealing was thicker then usual it was packed very nicely not one ding upon delivery . They really look after their films! & cheap !!!! $22 cad doesn’t get any better than this!!! If you love horror & don’t mind subtitles I highly recommend this film. 5 stars !! I don't know what that Vincent69 guy is yapping about calling this a Japanese film when it's clearly Korean, but it truly is an amazing KOREAN film. It deserves to get this gorgeous 4K transfer from Well Go USA. More than worth it.

Excelente pelicula. Un poco confusa si uno no esta informado del folklore de aquellas latitudes. Confieso que tuve que entrar a foros para algunas explicaciones.
