Nature's Way Herbal Hyssop Herb, Traditional Respiratory Support*, 900mg Per Serving, 100 Capsules

This is one remedy I have used for many years (as an asthmatic) -- and would not be without it. It definitely helps to clear lung congestion, and according to Rodale, is also effective against tumors. I have tried other brands (like Swanson) but this one seems to work best. I bought this in hopes it would help with my chronic nasal congestion. No luck with that but I will keep taking it and buy more.It is known to be one of the most potent herbs with anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties. I have found it to lessen the severity of head pain caused by migraine disorder. I recommend others to research it for themselves and determine if it will be of significant benefit.

Not much more to say beyond my headline--works well against sniffling from colds and allergies. Length of effectiveness may vary, but against the worst cases of runny nose and sniffling, hyssop dries me out for at least 2 hours per 2 capsules. Often I use 1 capsule at a time so as not to dry myself out too much.

I am a fan of Traditional Medicinals Gypsy Cold Care Tea which I discovered has hyssop in it. Since the tea was very effective in helping me get over a cold fast (within three days) I was thinking that I could also take hyssop capsules to treat and prevent colds.What you need to know is that hyssop is a stimulant. Not unlike caffeine apparently. I noticed I had a very sharp focused mind with millions of thoughts processing through my head day and night. It became a bit much. I didn't want to think so much. I also wanted to sleep. After three sleepless nights I decided I could not take six capsules a day as recommended. Two capsules seemed OK but not six. Still I was running to the bathroom hourly all night too. It became apparent that this is a very serious herb, not to be taken lightly.Also when they say: "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean" they should also mention that "I shall dream." Because the amount of dreams I had increased substantially causing me to wake up frequently because some were nightmares. I dreamed strange things like I had the power to create things just by using my mind. Creating things out of nothing was fun but I could have done without some of the other dreams.So I suggest you use this herb with extreme caution. I don't think I personally will use it anymore in capsule form as it also causes uterine contractions which can make you feel like you have menstrual cramps. This may only occur however when you take too much. So I'd seriously caution pregnant women not to take it. In fact don't take this herb unless you discuss it with your doctor. It may also affect your prescription medications. At least do much more research on this herb before taking it.Lastly I will say it is effective against stopping the progression of a cold. My husband also took it with no side effects so being male may make this safer to take. Two capsules is enough per day. Don't go over that otherwise you will have side effects.~The Rebecca Review
