Our daughter needed a new scientific calculator for her new secondary school and I was tasked with finding one. Well, the calculators I was allowed to use in high school and college were fairly basic at the time and the more advanced,scientific ones quite expensive. To my surprise scientific calculators these days are friendly priced. However they also seem quite advanced.. It made me realise that I won’t be able to help my daughter much with explain how it works. It seemed to be filled will load os of new functionality and has a bigger, much more helpful display. I’m getting old and so is my trusted decades-old Casio scientific calculator, that I can t always count on, on special equations. though it is still going strong and I still do use it from time to time even in these days of handy apps and iPhones.The only thing is that most of my ancient scientific calculators looked quite sleek powered by solar cells and were much, much thinner and lighter, which would be easier to carry along to school. But then again as with many thins calculators may be ugly on the outside, but it is the inside what counts!

This has been used much by my kids for their GCSE studies. A great product.

Works Well

I had the previous model of this calculator from year 7 all the way up until I finished my GCSE’s and it was fantastic. At the start of the academic year, I decided to go back to college to study on an AAT course, hence the reason I bought this calculator. So far this calculator has done everything I’ve needed it to do and has the capabilities to do much more. It really is one of the best calculators in terms of usability and I swear by it. I wouldn’t recommend this calculator for people studying A-level maths or anything higher though as it can’t display graphs or 3d objects like recommended A-level calculators can. Buy this calculator if you’re someone like myself whose brain topped out at GCSE level maths!

You need to be careful not to accidently press random buttons and change the functions but I bought it when I started my accounting course and it's been great so far. I passed 2 of my exams, 2 more to go (fingers crossed). It's also nice because the buttons don't make too much noise (which can't unfortunately be said about other people's calculators in the exam - imagine multiple calculators going click-click-clickity-click for 2 hours XD) So, in conclusion - good device and very pleasantly quiet.
