I gave this to my nephew who enjoys mysteries, treasure hunts and unique items. This cryptex fits the bill and then some. The quality of the workmanship is fantastic for this price point. He enjoys being able to change the solution and likes the weight and size. If you are looking for a unique gift that feels expensive, has a nice weight and adds interest to your shelf, this is a great choice. You will not be disappointed in this cryptex.

I bought this for my son’s 40th birthday, and he absolutely loved it. Such a unique gift. It’s heavy, well-made and the gears turned easily. Searching for someone else to give it to!

I put 3 stars for sturdiness, although the product is hefty and I wouldn't worry about it breaking, the top end to take it apart comes loose very easily and the rings are a little loose so it can be difficult to get it to accept a passcode. Overall really happy with the product.

This could probably be a murder weapon by how heavy and solid this feels. Nice to have the screw failsafe option if you forget the custom password (I forgot what I set it from a year ago, so it is easy enough to change). It is a fun little tool for those who like to solve riddles or treasure hunts for family members or kids. Love the design, and easy to use. The little rings were cheesy and cheap, but I didn't buy it for those. Props to you if that's important to you in this.

OK, so the original purpose was to use in a homemade escape room scenario. It was inexpensive, and the reviews were really good. Anyway, received it in the mail and I was blown away. The box is gorgeous, I didn’t realize that it was a Valentine’s Day present, so I was so surprised to see a card, two rings, two necklaces, extra screws (for these tiny screws in case you lose them), a screwdriver, glue - everything you need! Anyway, it was way more than I was expecting, so I gave it to my husband for his birthday and now I’m using it for my escape room! Killed two birds with one stone! It’s a really cool item!
