The overall game is fun, but this expansion adds a cool 80s adventure/mystery kids vibe. Be aware though that it DOES make some major changes to the base game with the addition of player characters with stats and RNG in the form of dice. Might seem dumb, but I was impressed that the writers didn't shy away from topics like smoking, drug use, and other "adult" aspects in the story that remind me of 80's movies pre-PG-13 rating.

This is a fantastic expansion. It doesn't add much in the way of mechanics, but the ones it does add work super well and enhance the storytelling. These were my favorite stories of all. They are all linked and continue from one into the next. I love how well constructed it all was. The new pieces and cards are all just as good quality as the original. No complaints at all.

My family and I love the "Chronicles of Crime" original game. If you are new and don't know this series, the game embeds QR codes onto cards, clues, evidence, and experts, and uses an app with the board/cards to lead you through a storytelling/crime solving adventure. I play this frequently with my daughters ages 10, 13, &15, and they love it. I ordered this "add on" in which you do nOT have to have the original game-board, and we love the new characters, art work, and setting (1980s). The game is also a little more "mild," no sex/drugs...focused on more mild "younger-friendly" mysteries.

Game play is fun. I'm going to get ever Chronicles of Crime game. The app is a little crappy, but still playable.

Arrived late, but we played so much.

I don't enjoy fictional cases. It waters down the chase of a killer, a person, a human. True monsters are the ones among us, I was hoping they would blend reality and mental sickness. Not actual mystical creatures.

A set of non-murder mysteries as an add on to this game is kind of genius because you can play with your kids. Its a nice touch to be playing as different members of a kid mystery solving team. I like the dice elements but wish the app walked you through how to do the scoring and energy use for the tasks the first time you do one - a strange omission when the original chronicle game has such a good app tutorial. Once again the artwork is stunning and the cards well made. And it's really neat that there are spaces to keep all the pieces in your original chronicles box. A great addition to the chronicle collection.

A good expansion to a game we already love. Builds on the base game, but has enough differences to make it feel like you have a ‘new game’.

A very good but tough game. First attempt we got it completely wrong. Our 7 year old son found it way too hard and the subject matter of drugs, porno photos and extortion not really appropriate. Such a shame because the game system could work really well for younger ones. However, great fun for older teens and adults
