Solid Mixing Bowls
Mixing bowls aren't that complicated and these work! They also have a pretty good flat base so they're stable and they're pretty wide for mixing (though some purposes you might prefer a narrower bowl).I read the reviews about the black stuff that's on them. I then Googled it and apparently it's a thing with stainless steel. So, I read some ways to kind of polish it off which I did to the interior and somewhat to the exterior then put them in the dishwasher. I totally forgot to do under the lip, lol, so, now my fingers get black if I'm holding them by the lip a lot, but the inside has been perfect since I did that. I forgot the method I used - maybe salt and baking powder with a little water? - but you can find a way to clean them online. I'd recommend. Just make sure you clean off the black stuff before you use them.

Best stainless steel bowls ever for the price.
Yes, there are probably 'better' stainless steel bowls out there, as in thicker, but you can't beat these bowls for the price. They are more than adequate for the average home user. If you have a business (restaurant) or do catering out of your home you might need to go with heavier bowls. These bowls arrived in great shape, not a dent, scrape or bend anywhere. And yes, they do need to be washed, as does anything that has been buffed to a glossy finish. If you would expect the seller to wash these before they sent them to you, you would also have to expect to pay a higher price. Great bowls, will probably buy more just to have enough.

Bought a second set
I liked this so well the first time, I bought another set. All of the bowls nest very well together and 2 sets barely take up more storage than just one. Easy to use, easy to clean (even by hand). I would obviously buy this again.

Just ok - they don’t nest inside each other neatly
This definitely seems to be a case of you get what you pay for. I think they’ll do the job, but they may be a little flimsy and wonky. My biggest gripe is that they don’t nest neatly inside each other. Two of the medium ones overlap awkwardly, and then the smallest ones are loose inside the next size up. They are also *very* flat bottomed - they remind me of a large pot for a stove in shape. This is ok for the smaller ones, but the larger ones are kind of awkward for mixing. I wanted ones with a sturdy base, but this is a little too flat for my taste.I haven’t actually used them yet - since I saw a lot of posts here about residue, I scrubbed them thoroughly, and once I’ve used them I’m sure I’ll have some additional opinions.EDIT (almost a year later): I added a star. Honestly these have held up quite well, no real denting. I think I prefer the wide, flat bottoms, it makes them very stable, and their low profile means they fit nicely on my shelf! Their fit into each other is a little visually wonky, but they’re fine!

Nice variety of mixing bowls
I have two uses for these bowls. Two of them will be used to heat bismuth metal for making crystals. The others will be used in the kitchen for salads, mixing, other food prep. This is a reasonably priced set for many uses.

A Multitasker's Dream
I had a birthday party for my youngest daughter and had to bred a bunch of chicken cutlets to make chicken parm. As I was doing so I wished that I had some stainless steel bowls, which would have made the task easier. A few weeks later I ordered this set. The first thing I did with them was make chicken wings. I used the largest bowl lined with a paper towel to hold the wings when they came out of the fryer. I used the next two largest bowls to toss the wings in their respective sauces and then I placed the bowls on the table for everyone to eat. They were good for preparing and serving my food. I'm extremely happy with these durable and attractive mixing bowls.

Excellent Percussion Instrument(s)
Bear with me-this is going to be something of an unusual review.I play percussion in a local amateur/community concert band (classical music), and this season we are playing a piece called “Foundry” by John Mackey. The part I was assigned calls for four metal bowls, and this set fits the bill perfectly. As this set of bowls comes with six pieces, I was able to mix and match the bowls to find the pitches I liked best. I beat these with an extremely hard plastic/acrylic xylophone mallet and they withstand the strikes with no noticeable marks, dents, or damage-I very well might be able to “repurpose” these for their intended use after we finish playing this piece. If any percussionists out there end up playing this part for this piece, this bowl set is highly recommended-good value for the money spent.
