Tamiya TAM61119 Fahrzeug 61119-1:48 British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I, Model Building, Plastic Kit, Unvarnished

This is a 1/48 model kit. It is highly detailed, contains photoetch accessories such as seatbelts and air filters, can be modelled with the cockpit open or closed and has decals for 2 different planes. It is an extremely well made and engineered kit that fits together very well but equally is not a model for complete novices and requires a moderate skill to complete. It does not include paints, glue or modelling tools all of which are required to make it. Excellent buy for a model enthusiast

Great model and great Tamiya quality, no issues with this model, load of detail with an amazing cockpit.

But the problem I found is that some of the detail is so small one has to be careful not to lose pieces, but it is so much more detailed than other makes, the cockpit has so many parts that just cannot be seen once the pilot is situated, just my personnel view, would I buy again? yes I would, if one is wanting perfection then chose this one, only crib is that it would have been better if the pilots head was attached to the body, once of it is easy to knock it off, I did !!! hence only given it 4 stars

Brilliant kit, well worth the money

Accurate molding, high quality polystyrene. Superb detail, particularly the cockpit all pieces fit together precisely. Excellent, clear instructions, once studied. A very satisfying model making experience.

Opted for a top of range model to complete a trip down memory lane. However slightly daunted by the cost of buying required paints. Fine if you are a regular modeller but not if this is one-off project. Presuming you choose not to 'cheat' and follow the paint recommendations precisely you could be looking at £50-£70 extra. Some of the areas to be painted need only a small amount of a particular colour which leaves you with an awful lot of leftover paint - Just saying.

this kit is very detailed with pe parts seat belts plus other items one of then better spitfire kits on the market also a very good price.
