Ok info, but too self-promotional for my liking
I've just purchased this today and haven't quite finished it yet, but I wanted to leave my initial impressions.Let's be clear - the author wants you to visit her site, where you can subscribe to her email list, take her free course, purchase the $99 upsell, etc. Nothing wrong with that for those who need/want it, but some of us just want to read and get lost in a good book.In case you are not sure which site is hers, it is mentioned and linked to 20 times throughout the book! For those who want to skip paying $4.99 to sit through the sales pitch, the site is thebigbookproject.com. Now I don't mind occasional and [very] subtle marketing, but when it is as blatant as this, I find it almost impossible to enjoy the book. Twenty 'Ads' throughout was far too much in my opinion. On the plus side though, the information looks good.. Unlike the average internet marketer, Cathy Presland appears to know her subject well and to be speaking from experience. As I said earlier though, I haven't finished reading yet and so may tweak my review once I am done - Just wanted to give a heads-up and a few quick notes to anyone looking to buy this.P.S. - If you are interested in the free 'worksheets' etc, as far as I can tell it's not made clear where exactly on the website to get them. On the homepage, click on the 'Write!' tab at the top. Once you're taken to a new page, scroll down to the 'click here to download' button, which takes you to a sign-up (email) form.

Great for First Time Authors
This book is great! It really forces you to think about the content you want to include in your non-fiction book. Note: this is geared exclusively toward first time non-fiction authors.Throughout the book you'll work through your motivations for writing, what you hope to accomplish, the single point you wish to communicate to the reader, plans for a successful book launch, how to schedule your time to write and make it a habit.I'm currently halfway through writing my first book and will attest that Cathy's book has made the process much easier. When I began I had no idea where to begin. By the end of her book I had a framework that has been indispensable.

Write Now!
Write! is an excellent step-by-step guide to shaping your idea, and writing and launching a non-fiction book that will take your business further. The paperback edition has an extra space for notes and exercises. The Kindle edition has the same great content, but you will have to do the action steps on a separate piece of paper.

Great guide.
This book is a simple, easy to follow guide to writing. I have taken a writing class that lasted for months and I got more out of this guide than I did taking the class. You can also follow Cathy Presland on facebook and take advantage of other writing instruction.

Excellent book!
Excellent book, practical and well written. Cathy Presland is an expert teaching others to write and she shares the tools she use as an author and mentor. Congratulations!

boring, there are FAR better books on the subject
Trite, written for high school level writers and I would think that's insulting many high schoolers. Rather read Stephen King's On Writing or Margaret Atwood's Negotiating with the Dead.

Weak and Lacking Sufficient Detail
This is a strange book and looking through it I can see why it hasn't sold many copies. It is weak in content and detail, padded out with irrelevant full page colour pictures and whole pages of nothing but white space!I'm sorry to sound so harsh, and it's easy to criticise others work, but this book provides a good example of how not to write a book. There are sections of coloured text that are difficult to read, even with good eyesight. If you are colour blind, you'll not be able to read whole sections of text.Looking at the layout it appears to have been compiled from course handouts. On the plus side, it does provide a simplistic overview of how to write a very low grade how-to book.Thankfully, the seller has accepted my request for a refund minus the postage. My advice is to look elsewhere, there are far better books available on this topic.

Wan't to turn your knowledge into a book that sells? This will do the job!
A brilliant book from a really likeable and knowledgable author. I have also completed her Udemy course on writing Kindle books and used this to help me write my own! This is a step-by-step guide that holds your hand through the whole process of turning what you know in to a book that sells. There are actions and exercises to move you forward and ensures you are actively involved and not just passively digesting. Excellent!

The book gives you a step by step process for tackling your book which eases you into writing your own so beautifully. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone looking to get started on their own non fiction book.
