PersolPO2747S Rectangular Sunglasses

I've run the gambit of sunglasses from Oakley and Tag Heuer, to Ray Ban and Maui Jim. I've even tried the fashion brands such as Armani.This is the first time I've tried Persol as a brand, and having once owned an Alfa Romeo the words 'Italian Built' tend to strike fear, rather than foster a warm and fuzzy.But I've seen them in the movies, Daniel Craig's James Bond wore the tortoise shell version of these, and Harvey Spector from Suits wore some Persol's to a funeral. So who am I to ignore such blatant product placement?I temporarily misplaced my Oakley's which had been my go to for a while, and decided I was overdue for some new shades. I've always liked the rectangular look, and it's quite clear that Persol is a well respected brand.I was very impressed with the build quality, look and feel. I've worn them in the icy snow of Minneapolis and the bright sun of Palm Springs and whether it be glare from the snow or a bright sun, they have performed very well.It's clearly a quality product. Very stylish, and non of the flaws of some other brands. Maui Jim always seemed to fog up for me, and pick up finger prints like crazy. These are easy to wear, and clearly the lens is of superior quality.There's a lot to like here, so if you are thinking of some cool shades for summer 2014, maybe give these a try.

A personal favorite so difficult to really give a review about why I bought them. Blue is not for everyone but they are actually quite subtle and don't stand out too much in case you were afraid of being too blue...lolThe quality of these glasses is what really shines. The hand-made frame and the distinctive hinge stand out to me above all else. Good solid feel without being too heavy but they are not lightweight either. If you like a solid frame feeling then these with suit.The lens on these are also sublime and easy to clean. I got polarized as always and love the distinctive effect these lens give.I do get the occasional compliment, mostly because they are a little different in a subtle way. Usually if I am sitting talking with people, this is when I tend to get a compliment.

Can wear these anywhere and always get compliments. Very well made, comfortable and never out of style. Lenses are great. Only complaint is they are fairly heavy so can get a bit uncomfortable after a full day but the weight gives them quality.

Beautiful frames and good quality lenses. I personally like the color combination of the frames with the bottom in Havana and the rest in blue. There is also a great case they come. The overall impresion is of good quality, very Italian, very pronounced. What I like less about the glasses is the weight. The frame is rather thick and they tend to slip off my nose. Also, because the lenses are blue they are not as pleasant to wear, or natural, as brown lenses would be. They do work well indoors, as long as the environment is not too dark. Not the best choice for very strong sun, but great for wearing in regular sunlight. Pretty good for driving.

While waiting for my flight to board, I wandered into a sunglass retailer's shop "just to browse". How fortunate that the Persol display was right there near the front of the shop! Already a Persol owner (I have a pair that I bought used), I was familiar with Persol's quality and timeless style. I tried on a pair of 3108's ($350) and these 2747's ($205). Wow! Impulse buy....here I come! Somehow, I managed to resist the purchase even though the lower priced 2747's with the photochromic lenses captivated me.After having regretted for several days, I looked on Amazon and found them selling at half of the cost. Slam Dunk!No disappointment here whatsoever.These glasses are authentic Persol......Made In Italy. Brand new with tags and packaging.The photochromic lenses are a real bonus, particularly at this price point.

I received the Persol PO2747, the two tone color frame is unique, they are comfortable. I liked them so much that I decided to exchange the lenses so that I can wear them all the time. I sent the frame to freeprescriptionlenses.com, the new lenses are the with Carl Zeiss Photofusion Blue with the Duravision Silver anti-glare, when I am outside the lenses transition from clear to an intense vibrant dark blue color (see pictures), they look awesome. I already received compliments from friends (at social distance gatherings). In short the frames are excellent, and Mathew (aka Mo) at freeprescriptionlenses.com did an amazing job with the prescription lenses.

These glasses were a style change for me, initially I was looking At Oakley's but wanted something less sport oriented and more elegant. Typically Persol has always had the wrong size and style to fit my face.This pair with the two tone color gotnmy attention.I received thisnpairna day earlier than noted. They came in a nice box and inside the box was a nice leather type hardcase with magnetic flap. A very large cleaning cloth and info.The glasses for my face well. For the first pair I've ever bought sight unseen online, I'm extremely pleased. These are high quality, exactly advertised.I hope they continue making this style as I believe I'll buy another pair when these need replacing.

I didn't pay much attention at first when i got them... I only wore them a handful of times but after the first month I noticed the logo on the inner side of the temple was completely worn off, my other pairs that I have had for 2 years hadn't even faded a bit. It wasn't until I took them into sunglass to compare them that I noticed they were really really messed up; worn logos, hairline fractures in frame on sides, felt much cheaper than ones in sunglass hut.I thought I had bought the same pair as the first time i bought these (my first pair went missing or stolen somewhere) but this pair is totally messed up and I didn't realize how messed up they were until right after the 30 days. Nothing more could be done.
