Is it a white cover or a clear cover the picture shows clear but it says white?

White cover, I bought one in October of 2014, you are correct, picture shows clear smoked cover. I believe it will arrive white. Great product!

Can this outlet box accept a gfci?

Yes, this box will accept a GFCI.  I have GFCI's in some of the Inboxes I have installed, and there was no trouble at all when putting them in.  They went in just like any other outlet.  A word of caution though.  Use wire clamps, instead of the grommets that come with the box, particularly if you are using UFB or direct bury cable, or have a large number of wires coming into the box.  Doing so will make getting things tidy in the box a lot easier.  I have used a number of Inboxes, single and double gang, for outlets, and several types of switches.  I could not be happier with my choice to use them.  They are easy to install, easy to use, and really look good after they are installed.

Do they work with standard 2x4 framing?

Responses from Don and Brad are correct. Can be used for new construction, but super for retrofitting existing construction. I installed these in my storage shed that has 2X4 walls with insulation and paneled interior siding. The weather protected receptacles feed the battery savers outdoors in the boat and tractor.

Can this unit prevent water entrance during high wind/rain events? 
--Does the outside door cover seal well?,  ty :P

For me this product has prevented water entrance during high wind and rain events.  I live on the Oregon coast with my view looking at the ocean.  These electrical boxes are on all four sides of my home about 18 inches above the ground.  We gets lots of rain in a year and some times winds around 80 mph with rain.  My home is sided with cement fiber boards so a flat framed box was adapted to the uneven siding so the electrical box would have a flat mounting surface.
