Retractable Extension Cord Reel - Ceiling or Wall Mount - 12 Gauge - Blue and Black

I've purchased 5 or 6 other brands, and the ratchet mechanism eventually fails. Only the Bayco is still working. Hopefully this one will hold up. Overall, the quality of this one seems the best. Of course, it is also the most expensive I've purchased. The ratchet mechanism is substantially quieter than the others. I can still hear it through earplugs so I know when it will catch. The cable seems high quality, and is pliable - some are stiff and end up in the way when draped over saw horses or storage units. The plug isn't too tight or too loose - I've had problems with others. The swivel side to side is smooth, and the rollers move freely. Installation should be quick and easy, since just two screws are required. I used Tapcons instead of the provided fasteners. Someone complained about there being no winder to lay the cord evenly across the reel on retraction. I've not seen that feature on any reel like this. If I've pulled out a lot of cord, I do sometimes manually move the cord side to side to ensure it all fits. The Bayco requires much more care in this area. There are rollers for up and down, but not side to side. That does not seem to be a problem. The mounting allows the reel to swivel side to side, and the housing does not catch or scrape the cord on retraction.

One of the better priced cord reels. Super easy to mount. Everything is pretty good quality, good enough for my needs. I hate extension cords and regular outlets, so I put 6 of these in my 36x30 shop. Only issue and it’s really not a big deal....when you pull out a lot of the cord, when you retract it, make sure the cord winds up evenly inside the housing. If it stays to one side too much, it will run out of room and not retract all the way.

I've had several of this type of reel from $35 Craftsman to a $100+ 60 ft Northern Tool. Bearing in mind I've had this one only a couple days: - if you spend any time at all in garage or workshop you're nuts to not have a unit like this. Utility is very, very high assuming you don't mount it somewhere stupid like I did on my first one and couldn't use it while garage door open- doh. - This item is sturdy and nicely built. Looks good too. - the cheap units are 100% waste of money and even the better quality Northern Tool versions haven't been trouble free for me. Point is this seems to be a type of product not to skimp on. - I'm a little on the fence over the circuit breaker capacity vs wire gauge a few other reviewers seem bent about. it is 12 gauge tightly coiled in a confined space and not like any of us are going to actually follow mfg directions and pull all 40 ft out of the reel every time we use it so it can radiate heat effectively. 15 amps seems prudent to me- until the first time it blows on me in middle of something that is. After all I did spend the extra cash for the extra capacity... we'll see. - comes with a couple of lag screws and a couple of masonry type anchors for installation. - some of the negative reviews were wadded up over the length of cord dangling out of the reel. It's adjustable guys.

Greatest invention ever, always have power when you need it without running a separate cord. It has been hanging in my garage for six months. Have had no issues, though I did make a little safety strap with braided wire in case the thing ever decides to jump off it's mount and fall. I have not had this or any other issues.

I wanted a extension cord reel with 12ga wire for my 3 car garage in my home for some time now. I use an extension cord almost weekly, so this cord reel makes this job much easier. The 40 foot cord length reaches everything I need it to in my large 3 car garage and out in my driveway as well since I mounted on the side wall near one of the overhead garage doors. The 12ga cord appears to be of good quality and the lighted triple outlet clear end has been useful and let's you know when it's hot. The reel itself pivots and has push button circuit breaker on the side in case of an overload condition. I removed the mounting bracket to make installation with the included hardware easier. Would be this unit again.

I really like my retractable power cord. It’s easy to mount, very durable, has plenty of length, and retracts easily. It’s perfect for my garage. Wish I had thought to get this sooner.

This cord reel is very handy and works well for my needs. It is a nice addition to my shop because it brings power exactly where I need it. I have a lower quality cord real installed in the ceiling of my garage. This one works much better than my other cord reel and is made of a much higher quality construction. The color is not as important to me but I do really like the blue and black combination of this reel. The 50 foot length also really helps to reach further than my other cord reel which I greatly appreciate. I would highly recommend this cord reel if you are looking for the perfect combination of convenience and quality in a product.

Rated at 125 volt which is not compatible with SG electricity. They didn’t say it in the description. I tried contacting the support and zero response. Don’t ever buy from Copperpeak Tools
