Great camera! Great price! Buy it!
The camera install went very well. Actually, I found a problem with my 2003 F250 tail light harness that I had to fix first before installing the camera. I hooked it into the stereo in my truck and it works really well. Very clear pictureOnly reason for 4 star is that I had a connection problem with the camera plug to av cable connection. Connector was hard to connect properly and gave poor reception until I got it on right and then it was great.Would recommend for others to buyUpdated Feb 13-2020: customer got back to me about my connection issue with good support.Everything working great, I’ll probably buy another for my mother!Great job Xroose!Update August 2021: the camera stopped working suddenly but I contacted Xroose and they gave me the usual GREAT service and support and are sending me a new replacement! Now that is awesome customer service!I’m very happy with the company. Thank you Rose for your great support!Another update Sept 6, 2021:The original camera was actually fine and there was a problem with my original wiring job. I corrected that and offered to pay Xroose for the second camera they sent, but they let me keep it for free!Incredible service! Thanks Xroose!

Nice camera for the price
My wife wanted a backup camera on her 2004 Honda CRV, so I replaced the original radio with a new one that has a backup video input. I looked over many backup cameras and decided that the Xroose was the best for my installation requirements and price. The picture quality turns out to be very nice. I would say the quality is a good as the factory camera on my Ford Fusion. I like the small diameter molded connector that comes with this, which makes it much easier to push the cable through small holes when installing. You also have the option to use the caution lines on the video or you can disable these if your display provides them. The camera came with a license plate mounting bracket, however with the the Honda CRV I have a spare tire mounter on the tailgate which offsets the license plate location. I decided to make my own mounting fixture under the center of bumper.

Great Quality & Easy To Install Rear Backup Camera!
This Xroose backup camera comes nicely packaged and ready for a simple install to my 2003 Honda Element. It is constructed of high quality materials and seems very sturdy and well designed with the night vision lights beside the main camera lens. It simply secures to the top of the license plate screws (I put the brackets behind the license plate so that it would not obstruct anything). The power and video wire were fed through the rear hatch compartment where the power wire was fed to the reverse light positive. I hid the video cable the rest of the distance up to the front console.Video quality is top notch and the night vision is easy to see even in my dark driveway. I highly recommend this backup camera for its design, quality and ease of installation.

Mount is a bit flimsy, but the camera is ok!
Right out of the box, the small mount that holds the camera to the bracket is VERY easily bent. Would not advise stressing it too much as it feels like I could snap it off. Love that it mounts behind the plate, giving it a cleaner look. Picture quality is pretty good. I already had a rear view camera installed, but had failed. I replaced it with this guy, so it was pretty much plug and play! Would have liked to see the reverse LED's on a separate circuit. As giving the camera ACC 12v, the LED's are on all the time. I've covered them with some black tape as I don't want them on all the time and have bright enough reverse lights.

Good camera and good quality!
Good camera overall and easy to install. The amount of cable is more than sufficient to run to the cab. I have a 2013 tundra crewmax and probably had 5’ extra that was wound up under a trim piece to keep it out of the way. Quality is fine. The lights on the camera aren’t infra red, they’re actual leds. Also, the video cable is a long standard composite a/v cable. Not really high def or HD. Looks adequate though. Not ultra crisp but it gets the job done. You might do just as well buying a lower cost camera instead of one that claims HD. But I’m pleased overall.

Nice backup cam
I decided to add a backup camera to my truck instead of getting out a few times to check the ball every time I hooked up a trailer. I have a wire grommet in my firewall so it was easy to run the wire through, I did have to cut the video connector off and resplice back in the cab. It's just 3 wires non shielded, so you can do whatever you want to it as long as you splice it correctly. That saved me from putting a 1/2" hole in my grommet for a 1/8 wire. Video quality is good enough, that might be my old radio (2014) I'm not sure, but I can see the ball so that's all I need. And it works great.

Disappointing and frustrating.
This was an ok camera when is was working. The night vision was better than most I’ve tried so far. The picture/video of reversing was good but not HD. I started having issues about a week ago and now you can’t see anything out of the camera. It started as a cloudy glitch so I re-ran a brand new video wire with no help. Today it was completely cloudy and you couldn’t see anything. I turned my key to the on position and put it in reverse and I put my hand in front of it and it picked it up but you could not see it was a hand. Completely disappointed and frustrated.

Nice design, good picture, cheap wiring
Installed this on a 2006 Toyota 4Runner.End result is great...picture quality is great, very nice camera. However, be forewarned that the wiring is very thin and somewhat fragile. True of both the wires and the plug.In trying to pull the plug (the blac 4-wire one) through a grommet (seal) in the liftgate (hatch), the plug actually pulled in two. I wasn’t pulling all that hard, and it simply tipped in half.I’m electrically and mechanically knowledgeable, so I simply stripped the wires and soldered them back together, removing them the plug entirely. Not a big deal in the end, but just a warning.... I DO recommend the camera because of great price and picture quality, but treat the wiring very gently if you don’t want to wind up doing what I had to do.
