Rothschild Renaissance: Treasures from the Waddesdon Bequest

This is a beautifully illustrated and scholarly book, interesting not only for the artefacts but for the history of the collection. My only caveat would be that it is (physically) extremely heavy so can only be read on a table.

A visually beautiful and interlectually comprehensive book of a fabulous collection, happily finally displayed in the British Museum to whom the collection was bequeathed at the end of the 19th century by Baron Ferdinand Rochschild. Highly recommend to those with an interest and love of Renaissance craftmanship. See the exhibition and buy the book or buy the book anyway if you can't do the former.
