Optimizer Foam Cymbal Washer Set, Hi-Hat-Clutch & Seat

I found my self restoring a few parts of my mate's drum kit. The high hat felt support for the bottom cymbal and two felt "washers" for the upper cymbal were worn out. This kit replaced all of it nicely. The cymbals now fit together properly and sound better. I suspect these parts will last much longer than the felt version. A bit pricey, but otherwise a good buy. This was exactly what I needed. It appears to be good quality. I have beaten the hell out of my hi-hat and have had no issues with this product. The price was right as well.

I was expecting to be able to hear a difference from felt based on the reviews but it sounds the same as felt. It does keep the top hat hole off the clutch threads so maybe it’ll prevent some keyholing.Update: It adds a harshness to the tone that I don’t like. I swapped the felts back in.

I love the Cympad line of products. Optimizer says it all. I previously used hat felts from either DW or Gibraltar. I decided to try these out & I'll never go back. Completely released the tonal quality of my hats. I've used these on various sizes of Sabian & on a 13" vintage Zildjian Z custom. All of them benefited in comparison to the regular felts. I've been using these for over a year. I highly recommend these.

Zero issues with deformation after about 4 months of fairly heavy play. I feel they are superior to felt or wool but you decide for yourself.
