Years ago, one used to be able to get watch batteries replaced for $5 at the local drugstore, but they haven't offered this service in years. I love my two old 'original' model Tag Aquaracers (from a pawnshop) since the rounded-edge metal band is so much more comfortable than the sharp edges on my other sportswatches.After years of being charged double to have my Tag's battery replaced "because it is a waterproof Tag", and then seeing that it only takes them a minute or two at each place I went (so no special cleaning or care over my waterproof Seiko sportswatch), I decided to try to replace the battery myself and bought the special little wrench to remove the back on eBay. The battery was easy to remove (popped right out) and the inside was a bit dirty after all those 'professional' $30-$40 battery replacements, so they were definitely NOT doing all the special care they said they were doing as justification for the higher fee.I bought these 364 batteries and a $3 'lifetime supply' pack of watch o-rings (in case I accidentally pinched & tore one screwing the back back on) and replaced my battery for about 51 cents total, including a better blow-out & wipe out (with a q-tip damp with 90% alcohol) of dust inside and around the gasket than the watch repair shop guy did.Not sure about longevity of this brand of 364 /SR621SW battery, since I just got it a couple months ago, but Maxell batteries in general have fairly good rating in terms of amps steadily produced. The previous short-ish (12-15 month) battery life [pre-replacement ] is just from owning a 20 year old watch with a little bit of wear (friction), but with being able to replace the battery so cheaply and quickly, it makes life a lot easier! I am just kicking myself for not doing this myself sooner.With the money I save, I can now better afford someday to get a 'real' cleaning done, with complete disassembly and rebuild.
