D'Addario String Height Gauge

Seems robust and accurate. Nice easy to read gauge which is far better than my old method of squinting at a metal rule.

Did not arrive on time. I queried it with amazon and was told I should receive it by Thursday (this was on the Saturday). Sunday morning I checked our mailbox and there it was. Nice piece of kit , markings easy to read should make setting the action on my guitars straight forward.

Well packaged. Well made and easy to assemble. No complaints.

Had a couple of these from generic overseas brands that were next to useless - with wonky edges and/or wonky printing meaning they didn’t provide the precision measurements needed for guitar setup. This one from D’Addario looks very similar, and for all I know was made in the same factory, but has obviously been subject to the quality control you’d expect from a trusted company like them. Slightly pricier than some other examples (and a little harder to read than some rival designs) but it does the job and you can be assured it’s providing you with accurate measurements. Worth paying extra for that rather than taking your chances to save a few pennies, I reckon. Recommended.

It boggles my mind how some companies try to charge for these simple devices and how fanatic some users can be over guitar tools! The D'Addario seemed to me to the be the best price performance product for sale here. The markings are etched into the metal and painted black against the silvery metal so it is easy to read. This should last me a life time.
