South Pacific Vocal Selections Revised Edition 6/04

Great song book if you’re wanting something easily to play! Just like other vocal selections, the songs are not in the same key as in Broadway musical/movie and often cut out interludes and dialogues. I wouldn’t recommend to advance pianist who are wanting something challenging, but who are just wanting to sing and play their favorite show tunes from South Pacific.

This is really a great book if you love the musical and you just want to play the music for fun. I bought this book to prepare for an audition to be in south pacific. I practiced for a few weeks and was very comfortable with the songs in the book, but when the actual audtion music was handed out, it was in different keys. All of the things I practiced had to be changed and it made it very stressful. This book is a really good representaion of the music, but it is NOT in the same keys as the original score.

Would have liked it more if the cover page was in color. But everything was good.

A life long reader of Michener's works I was curious how he handled the juvenile South Pacific, his first and only attempt at a children's book. The book was very interesting. It was actually a condensation of his adult book South Pacific. Probably teenagers could have enjoyed th boo but I don't believe grades 3- 5 would have had held any interest in it...to adult.

Everything I need as a singer and pianist to perform songs from South Pacific is in this book.

the score came faster than I could whistle "I'm Gonna Wash that Man right out of my hair." Great service/ excellent condition and terrific price. I own a lot of these scores and the price NEW is almost out of reach, but this was a bargain.

I am not the greatest piano player but do like to have music that isn't beginner level. These pieces are challenging but doable and they sound great!! I am loving playing them. The book contains all the songs from the show.

Just what was needed, at a good price, Unfortunately the show was cancelled in March 2020 due to Covid, but you never know, it may come back again!

Absolutely love it!! This is one of my favourite shows and it's great to have all the different instrumental bits as well as the classic songs. It's also great to have the overture which sounds exactly like the orchestral version. A very good buy for advanced pianists - challenging but not overpoweringly so.
