Zatarain's Spanish Rice, 6.9 oz

Zatarains Spanish Rice is the absolute best tasting Spanish Rice I’ve ever had. It’s spicy, but NOT hot—you could certainly add hot spices if you like the heat. I love the garlic taste to it. I started using Contadina Petit Cut Diced Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano when making the Spanish rice, and it’s extremely delectable. It’s so delicious, I’ve even had it twice in one week. Another totally unexpected benefit, I noticed on the mornings following having this Spanish rice for dinner my blood sugar is down lower than on days when I don’t have this rice. It was astounding the first time it happened, because I thought to myself how is it possible with rice—a carb! I don’t know if the tomatoes are partly responsible, but the lower blood sugar has continued after the first time, so I consider that a big PLUS. I truly recommend this product on taste alone, but if it can lower blood sugar that’s a bonus. When I first tried it, I used Hunts Diced Tomatoes and even though that had no spices added, the rice was still delicious. After trying Contadina with the added spices, it was hard to believe, but it was even better. I recommend it highly. Here’s hoping you try it and enjoy!

Good brand of Spanish rice for a quick dish if you don't want to make your own. Easy easy to make. Tastes better when I add some sauteed green peppers/onions. Enough for two and fast..

My wife makes a Spanish rice and chicken dish with this rice. It has not been available at our local grocery store for a few years now. She tried a few other brands of boxed Spanish rice, but they were not nearly as good so she stopped making it. After finding this on Amazon, I ordered 5 boxes and she is now making the dish again.

I added a bunch of shredded cabbage and some hamburger to make fake cabbage rolls and it's wonderful! I just went in to purchase more, but it's unavailable right now. BRING IT BACK, PLEASE!

The flavor is quite impressive. This product is incredibly easy to prepare, and it doesn't demand much time either. However, my only gripe is that it's on the saltier side, so it's essential to be mindful of your daily sodium intake, especially if you plan on consuming the entire portion.

I keep a box of zatarain's in my cupboard to use as a base for skillet dinners. I'll add smoked sausage or leftover chicken, but if you add too much then there isn't enough spice to spread out. So if you are planning on making a heaping dinner for 4 or more with lots of additives, you may want to use 2 boxes.It has just a little bit of zing-> that bite of spice that you think may be too much but then you realize it's tasty and not "hot." If you can't handle spice, then stick with other Spanish rice blends because this one cranks up the dial just a little bit.

I know a southern company selling Spanish Rice but this is by far the best tasting Spanish Rice. Use it the way it is or if you want to make it much better for your BBQ, add some bell pepper and onions sauteed in the bacon grease after you cook up a few slices of bacon that you'll chop and put in it, like I do.
