Joel McIverBible Of Butchery: Cannibal Corpse: The Official Biography

Great CC Biography!
The only gripe is that I wish the book was longer! Maybe we will get another one day? Goes hand in hand with the excellent Centuries of Torment DVD set. Awesome history of the band and some pretty funny stories too. One thing: in the discography section, there is a live album entitled “Torturing and Eviscerating Live” that I’m pretty sure doesn’t exist?

Better than the BIBLE
I don't think this book really needs any more reviews, simply being cannibal corpse, most successful death metal band ever, they are almost entry level DM. I guess I'm writing this cos a previous person wrote that it was a waste of time. Not for me, it has exactly the kind of memories that I look for in musical biographies. From childhood, how you found metal, (or punk) your influences, basic history of interest in music. These guys are almost all roughly my age and the thing that makes me laugh a bit, is it always seems to go back to KISS. I dont think I wasted my time in 1990 buying cc first cassette, although I am of the opinion that European bands were better.

The History of Butchery
Me just a casual fan but after finished reading this book, I will explore Corpse's music more seriously! Some good stuff here. Highly recommended.

fantastic Bio from the worlds greatest/misunderstood/most censored death metal band i know of. for adults only!
the 21st century biography of my all time favorite gore metal band. you will find out what celebs love this band, hints at whom was fired and why(a lot of assumption and back history knowledge will help out a lot).i but one admission...when chris barnes was fired from C.C. my first instant thought was. IF this bands replacement vocalist is not equal to or better than barnes, then i will NEVER buy another C.C. album again! but when "vile" came out and i heard the first ten seconds of devoured by vermin, my very fist impression was...C.C. is going to be JUST FINE and for the rest of their careers. it is also because of this band i am a fervent fulci, ittenbach(europrints), schnaas(europrints), miike', nishimura/benji, polumbo, roth, nicholson, P. Jackson(europrints) <all x-rated only) and x-rated era troma fan. and i have C.C. to thank for that!

Another MUST if you're a Corpse fan!
Joel McIver is one of my favorite music journalists and he has done a phenomenal job with this book. This is the ONLY authorized biography of Corpse, so any fan should have this one their bookshelf without a doubt! Not only is it extremely informative if you have an interest in the bands history, it's also a damn good read.
