CL25 Ice Fishing Baitcast Reel Walleye Pike Crappie Sunfish Reel

I ordered two of these and one worked just fine but the other seams like it has a gear messed up, lots of roughness when reeling and the button only releases every other time when you push it. But the one that was fine is still not like top quality normal size reels.

Decent little reel. I put 8 or 10lb test line on and it seems to reel and cast ok. Not as smooth as an Abu, but it doesn't cost an arm and a leg either. Brake is a little finicky, almost as if the knob is course thread but needed to be fine thread. Level wind doesn't really go all the way to edge of spool. Backlash and the space between the spool and body will drop line between, which is a mess. A little more attention to tolerances, and this would be an outstanding little reel. Photos are against an Abu 4600 C3 for size comparison.

Not a bad reel if you fish once or twice a year. Drag system sucks either too tight or too loose no in between. The line also rubs against the bottom on the line guide. I would have waited and bought a s series abu for 20 more bucks. Just my 2 cents

The spool release button does not always disengage the spool. Sometimes I have to try several times before it fully disengages. Otherwise, this is one of my favorite reels. I absolutely love it and plan to buy more.

Would have given 5 stars but the one I received is not as pictured. The sides are black instead of raw aluminum color. The color substitution isn't really any kind of functional issue but I made this purchase based partly on how the item looked in the listing and that takes it down a notch from 100%. Actually I'm only posting this review to give other potential viewers a heads up that the reel they get may not be as pictured. Also attaching a picture taken from an angle that makes it easier to see that there is a level-wind mechanism.

I have several places to fish freshwater fish walking distance from my home. I use this reel for bass,catfish, small gar, and occasional carp by mistake. Great lil fishing reel. Super happy with it!

I have one silver and one black been 3 times with them crappie fishing they work great I like the black better

Use it for jigging for crappie, very good little reel
