Not sure what the point of this is...
This definitely isn't as good as her first book and I'm not even sure why she bothered writing it. Knowing what I know now, I should have listened to the other reviews on this. It wasn't even worth my time to read. (Her first book, Move Your Stuff Change Your Life, however, is a life changer!)She talks about changing "space" starting with that closest to you...which is yourself. Then why not go into detail about how you can alter your energy by changing your hair or losing weight or doing any physical "upgrades," if you will? These have been KNOWN to change people's energy, including getting plastic surgery. Yet she mentions none of this at all. Then the people (and things) around you are also energy magnets. Each time I get a new pet (or lose one to death), my energy changes and things ultimately change in my life (good or bad, sometimes). Yet she doesn't mention how rescuing a dog or cat from a shelter could very well improve (or not) your energy in your life. Yet again, this falls directly into changing energy in your personal space, as she calls it.It would have been a better book if she were to include these methods for personal energy change (going from your "space" to your "person") to alter your life. But she doesn't do this. Therefore, I'm not really sure what the purpose of this book is because she doesn't get in more depth on the baguas (like I thought she would) and doesn't go into much detail about changing your person...so, what IS the point of this book then?I'd pass on this. Save yourself the money. It's NOT worth your time or money to invest in this.

Enjoyed the positive, inspirational tone
I had read and loved the author's previous book "Move Your Stuff, Change Your LIfe" so I was familiar with some of her ideas and her writing style. "Move Your Stuff" focuses on the reorganizing/moving things around feng shui part, while "Make a Shift" focuses more on the mind, body and spirit part. I think the two books compliment each other well.I found "Make a Shift" to be very positive and inspiring. The author brings up a lot of good ideas that I am excited to try out. I also enjoy how she includes details about herself and her life to illustrate her points. She doesn't just claim "I am an expert and this is what you should do." She admits mistakes and provides details of how she got though them.

Solid and easy to understand advice
I loved her first book decades ago. Move Your Stuff Change Your Life literally did just that for me. It was my first exposure to reading about Feng Shui. Presented in an easy to understand manner for an American without too heavy oriental esoteric explanations, this book picks up where it left off. Her books and online tradings are life changing. I appreciate her advice and observe her growth over the past decades. Well worth your time to read. Check out her you tube videos as well.

Karen's teachings enhance my life daily.
Her first book changed my life, so I became one of her students. Not a day goes by that I don't use some sort of feng shui in my life or to help others. This book energized and strengthened my beliefs and actions in the positive flow of energy/life. The emotional bagua is exceptionally helpful and will help you live a life you love.

Clear the MENTAL Clutter that leads to Home Clutter
It all starts somewhere, and it's usually in your mind. LOVE how Karen gets us to look at AND CLEAN UP the mental thought patterns that keep us locked in our cluttered homes and lives. Very wise. Easy to read, digestible chunks of information to contemplate and also to act upon in your house. I'd recommend it to anyone who's been struggling with feng shui fixes and/or organizing attempts that have failed to work in the past!

So So
Have her previous book and was really looking forward to reading this one. Personally found it a bit scattered and a bit serious, quite unlike her other book. Have finished it today and am not feeling inspired or that I've learned anything new, disappointing really.
