Dragon Models 1/72 Apollo 18 and Soyuz 19

this is a very nice model and has a lot of details! make a good addition to a space model collection!

I was expecting a pre-made, pre-painted kit. I learned a lesson: pay attention to what I'm buying.

1/72 is a good size for the Apollo-Soyuz mission and the high-quality resin soyuz and docking module are great. Prime resin with black acrylic and then Russian Army green for better finish. Soyuz solar panels are tricky and need support to dry.Apollo service module is a project by itself and is detailed to the max, quad thrusters are nicely done. Used flat aluminum and steel to make a nice APollo silver for most of the module. Acrylics are best for all parts and wash resin lightly in 409 or similar for best paint results. Apollo 18 is nicely detailed but no windows. It wasn't really called Apollo 18 officially and only the call sign "Apollo" was used for the ASTP flight.

Directions are not clear

The models were very nice however, the instructions were microscopic and the illustrated portions incomplete. I had to use the box illustration to find where some "extra parts" went on the Soyuz. The docking module and Soyuz were of a different material and regular model paint doesn't dry well on them.All in all it will be a good addition to my Apollo collection I started as a boy.

Excellent product

Like all of the Dragon models I have purchased the directions are extremely poorly written. Some items are not even illustrated making it near impossible to figure out how to correctly install the parts. Although the instructions include some paint requirements the painting directions are not included...nor are they available online :(The parts are well made and very little extra material needs to be removed prior to applying the finish. The resin parts do not accept all finishes and I had to remove some because it never cured.I love the detail in the Dragon models but they could hire someone else to create better instructions.
