about 14 years ago, when needing a new potato peeler I discovered Zyliss products. Thinking, right, this product like so many I've purchased would not stand up to the test of time, ( skeptic here, I was really thinking it will break in a week be dull and just scrap the outer skin of my potato off instead of peeling correctly) Well, what a shock for me when this peeler actually did an awesome job, honestly AMAZING! This is the best peeler on the market, works smoothly, very sharp and not hard on the hands when peeling 5# of potatoes for potato salad. You can believe all the good things you hear about this product. I've purchased them for all my adult children, and they love Zyliss too.

The flat blade is perfect for peeling potatoes. The serrated blade will peel anything; butternut squash, yams, carrot (makes nice carrot strips for stews)

A must have for the kitchen

I bought an older version of the soft skin peeler at a thrift shop. I didn't realize the serrated edge meant it was for soft skins but loved it for potatoes and carrots. When I went to buy more I discovered it was for tomatoes and peaches. If I have to peel those fruits I use the scalding method, but I tried it and it worked. If you are interested in that sort of thing. Of course my husband didn't realize I wanted to keep the blade guards and threw them away but they are so extremely sharp that you will want to keep the guards. Just a heads up. Make a poster for your kitchen to show putting the blade guards back on.

I love everything that I purchased from this company. Well made, stays sharp, easy to clean. I have other products from them that are over 20 years old and there is no rust and they are still working well.

I am fan OXO products and always buy kitchen tools and gadgets from OXO for it's superior quality. Since my old peeler was gone I decided buy new one but I could not find find the same replacement. This one is very bad quality and cheap built.

Peeling apples. Great product. Friends saw me using it and wanted to know the make which I shared and ordered these to give to my friends. I already had one.

I have used both these types of Zyliss peelers—the one for potatoes/firm vegetables and fruit; the other, for soft veggies and fruits—for many years! In fact, they are very likely almost 20 yrs old! They have been the best peelers I have ever used! They have done their job phenomenally well, and both blades cut through all types of peels beautifully!! Because of their age, and a slight amount of dulling, I bought a new pair of Zyliss peelers. I am VERY SAD to say that the new Zyliss peelers are nowhere near as effective and easy to use as my “old” peelers! All I can think is that Zyliss has made changes to the peelers—perhaps using cheaper materials (The quality of the metal blades?), and/or they do not take the appropriate time or care to properly sharpen the blades before selling! I have ever-worsening arthritis in my hands, so at a time when I needed an improvement over my older, slightly duller peelers, I have discovered that the new ones are significantly harder to use, and MUCH LESS effective at peeling potatoes and other vegetables and fruits! I am sorry to say I am NOT no happy with my purchase!

I have been using peeler of this brand since long time, but the previous version was much better than the latest model, I don't know why they have changed. But otherwise not bad.
