Venison Recipes Made Simple: 99 Recipes for the Homecook

I have been on a diet since August and have been looking for different ways to cook venison so I ordered this book of recipes. The first one I tried was the "venison chops and rice in the oven". It was delicious and didn't let me stray from my diet. There are a number of recipes in the book that offer a wide variety of tasty choices.

book was great, easy recipes, not hard to follow, ingredients were simple

I got this for my friend who hunts and fishes in West Virginia. She says she LOVES it, the recipes are good and the ingredients common or easy to find. She was thrilled, because she did not really know very many ways to fix the venison she loves so much. This gave her a lot of new ideas.

My sweetheart loves venison, now I can cook it too!! So far he has loved loved loved everything I cooked for him! Easy, normal ingredients, does not cost a fortune to make the meal!!

Most times when I try a new recipe for venison I will do it to exactly what the recipe calls for the first and then make changes to it the next time if I make it again... In the case of one recipe from this book, I was skeptical...the apple cider venison stew... It called for 3 cups of maple syrup... 3 cups of maple syrup???.... I guess that's fine if you like your stew sickening sweet... I checked it against recipes that matched on allrecipes and other sites and most only require 3 -6 tablespoons... dont know if it's misprints or what but check your quantities...

I am old fashioned. It's more of a hassle to use digital when you are cooking than just having a cookbook.I've tried several of these recipes - some OK, a couple were - nah. I would not buy it. Joan Cone has great recipes - if youcan find her old cook books.

If you’re a venison lover, you need this! Some great alternatives from the normal jerky/meat and potato recipes that come with being a deer hunter!

If anyone has ever cooked venison, you know that you can substitute venison for any beef recipe but the trick is to cook it slow. This book is a very simple cookbook with some great recipes and with quite a variety of them. If you didn't have any other venison cookbooks this one would be all you would need.

The book is Okay it gives you an insight into the many ways to cook Venison, but it was written for the american, not for the UK market were venison is sometimes difficult to come by.Personnaly I will take the recipes and do a bit of modifications to them for my Christmas feast.

Found all the receipts similar. Not enough variance and nothing new. I was disappointed and will not get a great deal of use from this book.H

It's Okay but aimed at the US markety. Didn't tell me what I don't know already. Okay for the hamburger fiend trying to find something different to McDonalds.

It was bought as a present for an American cousin, as they eat a lot of Venison, and she likes to slow cook food. The recipes were definitely simple and not to many ingredients.
