Women's Aconcagua Jacket II

I asked for this jacket for Christmas from my dad. I usually wear a small in most things and told him to order me a medium so it would be a little bigger and I could wear a jacket or sweatshirt underneath this comfortably. Immediately when taking it out of the box I was disappointed. It felt super cheap and not what I was hoping for. I tried on the medium and it was super snug and the sleeves were really short. I returned it and got a large hoping it would solve the issues. It didn’t. It just made the jacket look more boxy on me and didn’t really adjust the sizing issues. I returned the second one as well because I couldn’t justify having my dad spend $160 on a jacket I wasn’t over the moon about. I think it was just too small and not very good quality for a The North Face item.

I have been an Amazon customer since 2007 & this is the first time I have been dissatisfied with a product! I purchased the North Face jacket early in the season so I would have it available for the winter months ahead. The first time I put it on I noticed a couple of feathers flying through the air. My husband has a North Face jacket as well (purchased locally) & said occasionally that happens with his. I let it go. Last Friday was my first time wearing the jacket & more feathers! I thought oh well & wore the coat to an outdoor function & when we went inside to get out of the cold I started to take my jacket off & found that there were dozens of feathers on my sweater & looking further realized that 2 of the seams inside the jacket were frayed & open & that’s where the feathers were coming from! I had feathers all over the shoulder & front of my sweater so I was too embarassed to take the jacket off! I also found a seam on the outside arm that was open & oozing feathers! I realize there was a time limit for the return of the jacket but when you buy something that is seasonal you don’t necessarily get a chance to see if the product is good before the return date. The jacket seems to be of lesser quality in general & appears to be a “knock off” instead of the real North Face quality! I am very displeased!

I have a few of The North Face jackets and coats! This is my least favorite!!Pros=Very warm!! Very lightweight!! The color is perfect!! The Zipper pockets are a must..I love the pockets!! It was 28 degrees and windy the other day and this coat kept me warm!! The North Face Logo is in black and I ordered a black coat so you can't see the logo!!!The coat is perfect and I will be keeping it!!

This the best and warmest jacket I’ve ever had. It was so lightweight that I thought I’d have to return it a first. It’s perfect

I'm 5'0, 120 lb and the jacket fit pretty snug. I like the fit since i'm petite. However, if your purpose is to wear it with sweatshirts and layering, I would recommend a size up.

The item runs small and are very different I received one had fleece inside the when I returned for smaller size it didn’t have fleece inside

I'm feeling a bit mixed on this.I had loved my TNF Aconcagua II vest so much that I decided to get a jacket in the same style. I was a surprised to see that the fit the different -- the vest in XS fits me perfectly, but the jacket in the same size was uncomfortably confining and especially restrictive for full arm movement, so I exchanged it for the next size up. I had been entirely happy with the Small, until the second time I wore it and noticed feathers popping out from a half-dozen places.My fingers are crossed that this is merely the initial settling of the brand-new down filling, but I see other reviewers have posted similar complaints here. If the shedding keeps up, I'll have serious complaints about their quality control.

This jacket is a neat color- it's hard to describe, but it's more purple than blue, and kind of shifts with the light. The zipper, lining, and logo are a lighter purple. Other than that, it's a normal puffer jacket. Shipping was fast.

I bought this for my girlfriend who normally wears a small, i got her x large to be able to fit something underneath turns out an X large is smaller than a SMALL...Avoid something is off with this item.
