No assembly required
Really good shelving unit. The best thing is that you don’t need to assemble it. It’s quite heavy and very sturdy. It’s been more than 3 years since we bought it and it still looks like new.

Absolutely Love It
This is an absolutely brilliant shelving unit that comes already assembled. All you have to do is take it out of its box and unfold it. I was looking for a shelving unit for a very small, awkward spot in my living room & I searched high & low for the perfect unit & then I came across this. It is solid wood and the price is brilliant. I was looking at other shelving units with a much higher price tag but not of the same quality. The idea that you can just fold it away if you need to move is a brilliant idea. I luv my unit & will definitely buy more in the future. It came very well packaged & I'm very very happy with my unit.

Make top shelf a bit higher!
Edit: please see below update in the comments!I bought the 4-tier one (clarifying, as I get the impression all the reviews are lumped together). It was very slow to dispatch, by Amazon's usually excellent standards - probably my fault for being a tightwad, and choosing free Supersaver. But even so, the original delivery estimate was one week. It wasn't dispatched 'til the day before, so I knew it wouldn't make it - it was in fact delivered 12 days after ordering. That aside, I am pleased overall. I am mildly disabled, so cannot assemble flatpack furniture, and fully assembled is prohibitively expensive, and you're still left with: "How's it going up the stairs?" So this was admittedly a compromise between the look I'd really like, and what's practical for me.It looks quite good. It's pretty heavy - I managed to drag it up the stairs, with some difficulty. I do question the advice given somewhere here that it's suitable for transport on the bus. For me personally, definitely not, but if you're fit and well (and male?), maybe.Absolutely no assembly required, so I've immediately got a big pile of books off the floor. Just one small design flaw I've noticed. Although clear from the photos, you might not really take into account that the top tier/shelf is only half height. Whilst you can still put full sized books on it, to me, it looks odd, as the books obviously exceed the height of the unit.So in reality, you have three fully usable bookshelves, and a fourth for ornaments or bits and pieces, but looks odd for books. That is my only reason for deducting a star. Make the fourth shelf the same depth as the rest, and it would be perfect.

sturdy and attractive
I've had similar items for over 20 years and which still look good and taken the weight of lots of books. I needed more so ordered these. They look just as strong with solid looking shelves which look like they should bear the weight of books-- unlike the expensive oak bookcases a relative recently bought (not from Amazon )where thin shelving soon bowed. These are easy to assemble as you simply fold out the sides and the shelves drop down onto brackets. And the pale rubber wood is attractive too.

Good looking & no assembly!
Had similar unit some while ago and was pleased with it, so decided to get this to meet a further bookshelf need (photo albums). It folds open out of the box, so literally a minute to put in place, but very sturdy. Good price, prompt delivery. Packaging was a bit battered but goods inside not damaged. Recommended.

Normally good - but not in this case
I've bought a number of these shelves and I like the idea behind them - the clever, folding design provides substance and avoids all the perils of self-assembly. The rubberwood is reasonably good looking, if more for a back room than a living room. However, unlike previous buys of this kind this one was very poorly made. Most of the screws hadn't been adequately tightened and the a couple of the brackets that fall neatly into the slots below were bent. I repaired it, but that defeated the object. However, I still like the product overall, and have ordered another - in the hope that this was just an example of poor quality control.

No Assembly required. Whoohoo
Pull it out the box, unfold and fill. I am currently saving up for a 2nd one. Perfect for us older, weaker folks.

Nice product but a bit expensive
This was extremely easy to use (just unfold and drop the shelves onto metal supports) and did not take up much space when folded for storage.I needed a bookshelf with an open back to stand in front of a hot air vent and this was ideal. It is sturdy and has coped with heavy hardbacked books admirably.Somewhat expensive but keep an eye open for price deals before you buy.
