Quite a wonderful instrument. The keys all came intact, and sound pretty awesome. At first, I didn't realize what my money was being given to, and thankfully, it was for orphanages and west African families, and not some huge cooperation. It gives a nice artistic feel wherever you keep it, I definitely would recommend to others that want a pretty sweet Kalimba in their lives. I found this one much more appealing than to ones you see at big stores, because of it's pleasant vibe and artistic look. (Apparently it is handcrafted, as well!) It can keep anyone occupied for hours at a time! Worth the money!

I bought it as a gift and they loved it. It's very plain and roughly made. You must move the tines apart and tune it but it's very cute and sounds pretty good.

Cheap and tarnished metal. Sound quality poor. This product needs to be tuned. A few years ago we ordered a thumb piano, I believe it was by zither heaven and the sound quality was phenomenal, no tuning required. Order zither heaven.

Bought this for a musician friend for Christmas and am very happy with the purchase. Beautifully crafted, wonderful sound, fun to play and looks great even when just on display.

Mine came poorly shipped, not the plain top ordered, couldn't be tuned because pin was too bent, assembled poorly aligned so that I couldn't space tines enough to play when tuned. These are nearly only play things or conversation pieces for a trip not taken. The rough pins needing sanding. I ordered one and then ordered a replacement. My photos show how variable they are in size, color and quality. They are beautiful for tinkering around. If you play kalimba professionally you could modify and make a really nice instrument from these coconuts. The sound is MUCH deeper in the large coconut and lovely.

When they say "tunable", expect all the metal tines smooshed into each other, appearing completely broken. There was no paperwork explaining how to realign or "tune" the pieces to make this actually functional. I realize his is something I can scour youtube to figure out, but is it really that hard to have it put together properly in the first place? Also, it was shipped in a non-padded bag. So, here I sit, screwdriver in hand, handcrafting a freaking kalimba, trying to save Christmas.

This was one of our Holiday White Elephant gifts and was swapped/stolen twice during the game. My husband tuned it prior to gift exchange and the final gift holder was elated with this as a gift and those who lost it were bummed!! We love giving musical and/or unique gifts! This was well made for such a low price and once tuned it sounded fantastic!!

Sounds lousy, adjustments are so ineffective that there's no way to create much difference in sound-tongs. Disappointing and cheap.
