UPDATE: This part performed perfectly, shearing when it was supposed to, which saved my beloved mower. Re-ordered part came in 2 business days.This part has handled heavy use and only sheared when I hit a hidden brick. It is designed to shear when the blade hits something hard (rock, stump, branch, etc.) to protect the drive shaft and engine. I tend towards hard use of my tools, and I have even used this mower to mulch sticks from pruning (I try for pencil thickness or less), and this part handled all of that just fine. I love my little mower and I'm glad to have this particular part available -- I'll definitely use this same item to replace it the next time I hit some invisible brick in the lawn (which I hope will be never).ADVICE ON PART ORDERING: Check your part number and model number carefully!! (The number stamped on the part is 418373.) I ordered two wrong parts before I learned to check, double-check, re-double check. MOST Huskee and MTD mowers use a completely different adapter and a bracket (this one uses a hardened washer, not a bracket). I don't think ANY MTD mowers use this kind of adapter. It seems that Husqvarna made this particular mower for Tractor Supply, instead of licensing it out to MTD. You will not find these model numbers on Repair Clinic or through MTD-related websites. That's why I put the model numbers and part numbers on here, hoping they'll show up in a search.

Blade adapter broke and I couldn’t find one locally, had this in two days, fits perfectly

This is a perfect replacement for a blade mount/adapter on an older Craftsman mower--many of these models were made by Husqvarna. It's slightly different in that the original had a slight projection on the underside where the bolt goes through; the new one is flat except for the lugs. It replaced the original mount for blades that whacked one too many stones in the mower's 25 or so year life. If the blade has completely knocked off the retaining lugs on the old adapter, you'll need a pipe wrench or similar to keep the motor from turning over when you loosen the mounting bolt. A simple fix at a good price. I didn't rate durability because I haven't hit enough rocks yet.

My old craftsman mower won't die and it needed a new blade adaptor so after checking all my local brick and mortar stores I finally found this one, sure enough it worked. Thankyou to the Bezosamazon gods.
