Works be patient
Worked on set antlers from a buck I harvested in 1993. It ha a broken tine at the time. Be patient don't rush the kit comes with everything you need and good instructions. Paints worked great blended the lightest color with a little of the darkest to color match closely. Took a toothpick after the base coat was dry and dabbed in the darkest color to add vein lines in the antler. After that was fully dry took some dirt and ground up leafs and lightly polished over the repair.

Try it
At first I was reluctant to try this product but after researching it on you tube and talking to other that had used it I gave it a try, and was surprised how well it did work to make the replacement tines on a record book class non typical whitetail deer rack, using only a prior photo of the deer to go by I was able to reproduce the rack back to its original look. It’s hard to get used working with this epoxy at first but if your careful and don’t rush your project it will turn out looking great. I would recommend this to others for replacing broken tines on their deer or elk. You can also find this on thru Vandykes and McKenzie Taxidermy Supply catalogs.

Simple to Use and the End Result is Superb
Very easy to use! I feel I should stress this was my very first attempt at taxidermy of any kind, let alone antler repair. The instructions that come with this kit are very straightforward, and it literally has everything you need. The only thing that I did outside of the kit was to stain my sun-bleached antlers with special walnut 224 wood stain. The epoxy is very easy to shape, and you don't really need gloves for it (comes off pretty easily as long as you don't leave it on too long, but the kit does come with a couple pairs of gloves just in case). Once it's set, it's just a matter of painting and finishing to get the right look. The beauty of the epoxy is that you can always add and remove as needed (removing is a lot quicker of course). You can remove excess with the sandpaper provided or use a dremel like I did. Then just use the latex paint to set the proper color. Using a wood stain helps tie the overall color and texture of the antlers together with the replacement part so it blends in more naturally. It's a bit time consuming, but nothing worthwhile is ever quick. Will definitely purchase again as soon as I acquire another set of broken antlers!

Antlers look great
I had the taxidermist fix a G3 on a big 11pt I shot a couple years ago when it was mounted and was so happy to get it back I did not complain about the job they did. Unfortunately it was about an inch shorter than the other G3 and at the wrong angle. I couldn't stand it any longer so I gave this kit a try. The kit was easy to use and the material hardened slowly allowing me to take my time and get the angle and shape just right. After it hardened for 24 hours I went at it with some sand paper to blend the connection to the real antler and grooved it up a bit. The toughest part was getting the shading right. Although they give you three colors I ended up getting some wood stain sticks which worked well. Even though the wire fit very snugly into the holes I drilled I used epoxy to make sure there was no chance of pulling out which mayhave helped because I was putting quite a bit of pressure on the tine when I was sanding and there were no problems. Looking at you tube videos also helped otherwise I would have been concerned about wetting my gloves down soo much. I had quite a bit of material left over.

Excellent Product
If you walked up to my deer you would likely be unable to tell which is the tine I replaced. It looks that good. This kit is really nice. I had never tried anything like this before, but had I a nice 9 pointer mounted with a broken G3 and I wanted him to look his best. I followed the instructions and this kit worked real well. The only deviation I made was that I used some JB Quick Epoxy to secured the wire into the hole I drilled in the antler.I only gave 4 stars because it came with one white paint and two brown paints. The real key to making the repair turn out great is matching the color. A lot of antlers, including the set I was repairing, have more of a grey color to them than brown. I think the kit would be perfect with 1 white, 1 brown, and 1 black paint. Then you could blend those to make any conceivable color needed on an antler repair job.

Do your own antler repair and save money!
Easy to use products. The instructions were simple to follow.I would recommend this product for antler repair. Tip- find a color matching shed or cut a point off a discarded antler and repair the missing point attaching the antler point with a screw leaving a 1/2” gap. Fill gap with the epoxy product, sculpt, let dry, sand and paint!

Great kit! Needs more colors.
I love the kit and it worked great. However, I could not match the color or even get close. I would suggest adding a few more colors.

Good product
I repaired an entire tine that was broken near the main beam with this kit and it looks great. After painting it using a paper towel and several layers of the included paint and matching the color as best I could I covered it with mud, let it dry then brushed it off for a near perfect match. The included wire was too thin and short though so I used some heavier stiffer gauge wire. The epoxy material works great though.
