Replacement shocks for your GM vehicle lift gate
I purchased these liftgate lift support shocks for my 2007 Chevy tahoe. They were an exact fit and very easy to replace. I bought them evaluate my automatic lift gate would go about half way up using the automatic lift and the tailgate would go half way up, make a terrible clicking noise then drop back down. If your tailgate won't stay up or only goes halfway up using the auto open/close feature then buy these lift supports. They are about half the cost here as compared to the Chevy dealership. Installation takes less then five minutes. Either get a friend to hold up the tailgate or get a brace. Then you just pry open the clip using a flathead screwdriver on the top and bottom of the shocks. The new replacement ones just pop on. Even a monkey could do it. I have had these replacement lift shocks for over a year and they are holding up just fine. No problems. Also I recommend replacing both shocks at the same time. Great buy!

Worked great. Seems sturdy. Easy install ...for less than a novice.
2013 Tahoe LT. Replaced both struts. Seem solid and was an easy installation. And I'm nowhere near handy. Used a 6' step ladder to brace the lift open. The second strut was a little tougher to replace possible due to the first new one being installed and tension was different maybe? No clue.Funny part of the story...had to move the ladder to remove second strut...first strut was hiding lift up just fine so I thought that all would be good...as soon as second strut popped off whole lift fell and flattened me. 🤣🤣🤣 Morning Neighbors!Moral of the story ...be careful out there.

Thank you StrongArm, perfect fit for my 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, simple easy install
The lift gate (tail gate) stopped working on my Chevy Suburban truck after about 3 years of ownership. At first the lift gate would slowly lower after opening, then it started crashing down unexpectedly after opening, until eventually it wouldn't open at all. Without question this is a serious safety issue. If the gate falls on someone they will be seriously hurt.Chevy quoted me $180 to fix both struts. What a rip off for something that should have lasted 10 years. Another in a long string of early failures with my truck, but that's another story...Thankfully this was a really easy and cost saving repair you can do yourself. The struts from StrongArms look just like the OEM part and seem to be good quality.1. Make sure you buy the right struts. I accidentally ordered the window struts, not the tailgate struts. Oops. No problem, just a quick exchange.2. My old struts were marked left and right but there is technically no left or right on the struts, they're identical.3. Check out this tutorial on youtube https://youtu.be/Mh5rDHv0Gq0.4. The lift gate is heavy. Mine is also power opening so I had to pull it open when the motor was trying to pull it down. It's not hard to win, you just have to hang on a bit. You do need a to have some upper body strength or have a friend help. I did it by myself easily.5. The gate will need to be pushed open a bit further than where it will be when propped open to attach the second end of the new strut. Again this is where a friend helps but I did it myself.6. The ladder underneath for safety is a good idea. Don't just trust a broom stick. If the gate comes down on your head unexpectedly it will not be pretty. The entire project took me 10 minutes, absolutely a piece of cake. Saved $140.

Just Installed, seems to work OK
Replaced two struts that failed. Installation was easy and they are working now. You do want a helper, though to handle the tailgate. It's a bit tricky to get them aligned by yourself. So far, I'd buy again, but hope I don't have to.Can't rate them a five because I just installed them. Otherwise I would.

Perfect fit, install less then 10 min.
This Lift Support was a perfect replacement for the Liftgate struts / Lift Supports that were on my 2008 Chevy Suburban. I started looking for replacements after my automatic liftgate would go a third the way up before reversing direction and coming back down. Even with power lift turned off the liftgate was very heavy and would come crashing down when let go. If you experience similar symptoms its almost guaranteed that you have 1 or 2 bad lift supports. You can easily spot the bad support by running your finger down the shaft to see if it leaves oil on them. You can replace he bad support only but its probably better to just replace both. The installation process was supper easy and took less than 10 min. I did it by myself but it will go even smoother/safer if you have someone help with securing the heavy liftgate. Since these are a direct replacement all you need is a slot screwdriver to release a clamp at each end of the old support and a Universal Lift Support Clamp to hold the liftgate up on one side while you work on the other. To install just manually open the liftgate as high as possible and secure the lift support clamp on the support opposite of the one you are working on. Use your slot screwdriver to release the c clamp at each end of the of the support (there is a notch on the support for this purpose), pop them off and pop or snap on the new support. The support comes fully extended so you will need to push up on the liftgate while snapping in the new support. Rinse and repeat on the other side.Very simple process. I have had more trouble changing windshield wiper blades. I strongly suggest getting a clamp like this "AES Industries 33285 Universal Gas Charged Lift Support Clamp", it makes the install so much easier and safer.Clamp link : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002D3PSJK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1So far my liftgate functions just a before with the new lift supports. Great product!

Easy Repair - Yukon/Suburban/Tahoe power lift gate
This fit my 2011 GMC Yukon and the installation instructors were very easy to follow. I am very pleased with this purchase. It repaired my power lift gate issue, due to the previous strut being worn out. The damaged one had external grease build-up and was easy to identify. I am now ordering a second one as I know that the other strut will fail at some point in the future.
