Tinting instructions
This is what I received from the manufacturer today so the rest of you don't have to look for it. You think this would be provided.Tinting InstructionsOur tintable chalkboard paint is a clear (neutral) base. It should match any formula for a neutral base using the universal tints. Do not exceed18 oz. of color per gallon. For pastel tints, add white first, and then gradually add the other colors. Most paint stores will tint our chalkboardpaints, however, if there are any questions, please call us at xxx. We will be happy to assist.Tinting Instructions for TINTABLE CHALKBOARD PAINTAmounts (per Gallon)Pastel Base: 8-12 oz. white, plus half formulation (adjust accordingly)Medium Base: 8-12 oz. white, plus full formulation (adjust accordingly)Deep Base: 4-8 oz. white, plus full formulation (adjust accordingly)Ultra Deep/Neutral Base: full formulationOnly tint to flat finishAmounts (per Quart)Pastel Base: 2-3 oz. white, plus half formulation (adjust accordingly)Medium Base: 2-3 oz. white, plus full formulation (adjust accordingly)Deep Base: 1-2 oz. white, plus full formulation (adjust accordingly)Ultra Deep/Neutral Base: full formulationOnly tint to flat finish

Much cheaper than what is offered in the box stores, and works great
I did a very large wall at work 12x30, and it would have cost a fortune if I had used the pint sized buckets from the home improvement stores. We did coats of the magnetic primer underneath, and it works great. Don't expect this to be like a fridge or anything, but get the right magnets and you will be happy. I am using sheet magnet material, along with magnetic push pins also found on Amazon. We tinted this to match the color of the magnetic primer. It tinted just fine at the local paint store. The one issue with this is that rolling it on causes it to stipple (bumps), which makes the chalk harder to erase.

worked perfectly
it was great to have a chalkboard wall in my sons room in the color of my choice-the paint worked perfectly, and we achieved the dark turquoise wall we wanted

Disappointed
Despite it saying you could be taken to any hardware store to be tinted it wasn't true. Most places wouldn't touch it because there was no formula tor intrstuctions to be found anywhere to tint the paint. It got fluffy when the people at the hardware store shook it theb they let it sit for a week and it never went down. In the end some of the product had to be dumped out to make room to tint the paint. The color was okay but wasnt easy to work with and very textured, sadly don't know how well it'll work as a chalkboard. The good part is the magnetic paint that is under it works so it'll at least be magnetic!
