Starter Solenoid AM138068 725-04439 Replacement for John Deere MTD Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor

Got and installed today on really old John Deere Z225 zero turn mower. Completely fixed the “click but won’t crank” issue. Decent price and arrived fast. Exact fit no issues at all. The nuts on the posts are 2mm smaller than original but that didn’t cause an issue.

This installed within minutes and I was back up and running.

Started right up on a JD lower

My mower started to have trouble starting and would just crank and crank. I jumped the battery multiple times before I had enough and decided to fix what was wrong. This little part fixed the problem and she fired right up. Very easy to swap out if you have any mechanical skills.

Freaking mower is cursed and has never started well. Has been plagued by other problems too. Bad starting Blamed on mouse nest, bad battery, bad gas, bad oil... replaced pretty much all of that stuff and finally traced it down to a melted solenoid. Swapped this baby in and it fired right up! Multiple starts, no trouble. Lifesaver... five minutes after getting it going the power transmission belt sucked up a stick which jammed the belt and melted it all over the rear transfer case. Freaking thing has been sitting ever since waiting for me to tear it apart again and replace the only remaining user-serviceable part on it. Seriously, this mower is cursed.
