Was not made aware that leather would be sueded texture on both sides of the hide.
There was no description so I went by pictures. The leather arrived and it was suede on both sides of the hide. If I had known that I would not have purchased the material. One of my customers said it looked like cork. This was really unacceptable. I make leather bound journals for people and had to use the material anyway. Just disappointed didn't know that they were going to pull a wish.com on me. Please add photos of each iteration of your material if you aren't adding descriptions at the very least.

Perfectly weighted leather for the laser!
I needed some thin leather to run on the GlowForge to be able to do some small run manufacturing, and this is the perfect stuff. It is rough on both sides, but can easily be sanded, waxed, and coated to achieve a fantastic look. This is perfect for what I needed. And you cannot beat the price!

Split, flesh only leather. Medium/light weight, large piece. Happy as can be!
This side is alot bigger than i was expecting, although this is the first time ive ordered leather online. It looks incredible, its exactly what i needed for the project im doing and when im finished with my rifle case I'll have enough material to do 5 more if i want. Nice!To those worried about what it is, its split leather, flesh only. Still pretty tight, not super hairy. Theres some thin edges but no real big deal. Ive doubled leather before for holsters and this would work nicely for that. Havent tried to see how it burnishes yet but considering how well gum trag smoothes fleshy undersides I expect this to burnish nicely. Definitely recommend.

Not what I thought they were advertising! ----- UPDATED
----------------------- UPDATED -------------------------------This is a "SPLIT". OK so I new to leather crafting and to me leather is leather. So I figured all leather sold is "top grain" leather and that the word "split" meant that it was once and 10 to 12 oz leather and now it is a 3 to 4 oz leather. After talking with Bob at Dangerous Threads I found that that was not the case. With the work that I have been doing, I really only have use for the "top grain" of the leather. If you are looking for "top grain" leather this is not what you want.

This is a typical split - not finished leather
Reading the reviews is driving me crazy because people are falsely blaming the seller. This is a split, meaning it's the flesh part of the the leather, not the grain. Kind of like a suede but possibly more rigid. Before ordering leather, do a bit of research to know what you are ordering. There are lot of types of leather, veg tan, chrome tan, chromo veg retan, alum tan etc. Aside from the tanning type, there's different types of cuts - such as these splits.Main thing is if you don't know google it or ask the seller. Just don't blame the seller for your lack of knowledge as they have made the ad clear as a bell.

Different than picture but excellent leather
A little different than the picture but an excellent product. No finished side, but it's still great for almost every leather project except for tooling projects. Only four stars given because its not the same as the picture. The leather I received deserves five stars.

Prompt, well packaged, and nice piece of leather
I've recently gotten into leather working, mostly for things on my motorcycle, and this piece of leather is exactly what I wanted. The description was accurate and I can now work on leather side bags for my bike. Will definitely order leather from them again.

but great for what I'm doing
Maybe a little under medium weight, about 3-4oz, but great for what I'm doing: making leather wraps for expensive hand tools. It was a very big side, and will last me quite a while. I am very pleased with this product! Do not buy if you are looking for tooling leather! Go to Tandy for that. This is great for tool bags, light chaps, bracers, etc.
