Okay so far, needs improvement and better customer support
I received this unit yesterday and installed it on my trailer this morning. The instructions were fair but they need editing. The quality seems to be good with one exception, the bolt on assembly should be either stainless steel or aluminium. Everything is either stainless or aluminum except for that part and it is the only part that will see salt water emersion for those that boat at the coast. As for customer support Atwood only has a number to call which is never answered, just a voicemail. The link to tech support is broken so no way to contact them. I guess in the end I will have to find a replacement for the carbon steel bolt on assembly myself but I urge them to replace it on their future products. After installing this product I think it will do the job it was designed for.

Decent quality but not long enough for my boat
First Transom Saver I purchase (also an Attwood but not this model) went back because it was too short. This one is longer but would be better with an additional 6". I like the shock absorbing concept but not sure how it will hold up over the long haul. It's just a small spring that you place between two bolts in the square tubing. It seems to work. Still, after installing and taking the boat down my road, the skeg kissed the pavement. Granted, my road is very steep and I didn't expect it to touch. On the other hand, I towed the boat all the way to Maine with no issues. It's not really a reflection on the product. It's a quality item just needs a bit more length for my needs. I'll make it work.

Good Product
Seems to be very adequate. I've been using it for a few weeks now and no gripes. The instructions could have been a bit clearer, not that its rocket science, but how to put it together was a little vague. N
