It's likely to work better on a hard office floor. It's alright for typical office use, however this is not a heavy duty desk. The corner part almost broke after I tried to put a large, heavy monitor on it. The tiny metal braces are definitely not enough for that.+ The surface of the desk is scratch and heat resistant. Hot coffee cups do not leave any marks.- Wobbles slightly when on a carpet (even on a polycarbonate chair mat), unless you remain still. Wobbles a lot if you accidentally bump into it.- The corner part is not sturdy enough. I would not put a larger monitor set or a pc on it.- The desk is too expensive. For £180 in the past I've purchased Germania 484-87 Workstation which is sturdy as rock even when trying to shake it with a sincere effort.This desk could be improved a lot by adding long steel braces underneath each top to prevent bending and reduce wobbling. Much larger support brackets would be needed to support a heavier PC on the corner part.

Rubbish defective item. Doesn't last a day! Bad quality!
