Hi, Thank You for your interest in our products, You need a electroplater to apply the gold, this solution is a real 24K Gold and you can only apply it using a power supply, also Gold will only bond to metal surface, shells are not metal, in order to plate on a shel you must make them Conductive by using a spacial silver paint which is called silver conductive paint and then gold plate, Thank You.

Q: If I were plating new american silver dollars, how many would I be able to plate with the 8oz gold replenishment ?

It all depends on you as how long you will keep the coin in the solution, usually it takes 20 to 25 second to plate a coin, you can check it after 15 second to see if its all plated then your done if not you dip it in the solution and ther 5 to 10 second, if the coin is all plated and you keep extra 10 15 seconds you are just wasting the gold, if you keep longer than 40 to 45 seconds then gold will burn and turn your coin to burnish color, i have a customer that plates 40 quarters with 4oz gold.Thank you.
