From The Vault - L.A. Forum Live In 1975

To me the pace seems a little frantic.
I saw the concert at The Boston Garden from the second row. Jagger actually straddled the giant balloon you know what and slid off it into the audience. He was helped back up by them, really funny. As my headline states this LA show much quickly paced. The Garden show probably was also. All I know is that it was The Stones and everybody was loving it. I saw them in '66 at the Manning Bowl in Lynn Mass, '69 at the Garden which was the "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" album, really great. Again in '72 also at the Garden which was "Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones" CD and DVD. If you are going to get one concert by them its this one to get. By far a better recording. Keith really is on top of his playing. Driving the show along with Charlie. He even yells at Mick Taylor to "stop it" when Taylor was getting a bit carried away with his lead. Anyway, the show was fantastic. Its the one where the Stones flight was forced to land in Providence RI because Boston's Logan airport was fogged in. Keith got mad at a photographer and hit him. When the cops went to arrest him, Jagger interceded. They both ended up in jail. Mayor Kevin White had to get them release into his custody and the RI state police whisked the Stones to the boarder where the MASS state police raced them to Boston. They got onstage around 12:45 and played a great show. They even did an encore, which in those days, they never did. Dozens of girls had taken their shirts off as did hundreds of guys. The heat in the un-conditioned Garden was extreme. Anyway this is a great DVD and CD, much better than the From The Vault LA Show in '75.

The real deal!
When I first saw the Amazon ad for this release, I thought I was dreaming. I was at the concert when this was filmed, in what I initially thought were bad seats, above and slightly behind the stage. As it turned out, they were the best seats in the house, since we had a view of everything going on before the petals of the star-shaped stage dropped, plus all the behind the scenes stuff.Of the more than a dozen Stones concerts I've attended over the years, this one was the best, by far. I had the good luck of being friends with one of the Stones US lawyers, so most of the concerts I went to included great comp seats and backstage passes. The '75 concert wasn't one of them, and we bought scalped tickets, but like I said, it was the best. The quality of the video is much better than expected, as is the sound. The one very slight disappointment I have is that the DVD producers didn't include what happened before the Stones stage opened, not did they show the truly amazing way the Forum was decorated, with huge silk-like banners hanging from the ceiling, and a cone of the same material covering the closed-petal stage. About 45 minutes before the show opened, a long conga line with drummers formed in the hall, winding its way through the aisles and doors, eventually following a gold Chinese dragon. The initially disjointed drumming slowly merged into a single, vaguely familiar beat. At that point, we noticed that the beat was joined by Charlie Watts onstage, growing louder as the drummers' sounds subsided, and the silk cone raised, two or three of The Boys climbed to the tops of the individual petals, and that merged into the first tune. Dramatic as hell! Maybe a second edition of this DVD will include those moments. How good was it? This will give you a hint. The four in our group had smoked some of the finest weed I'd ever had before getting to our seats, so by the opening tune, we were all pretty toasted. But once the show began, we all admitted to each other later that, for the first time, all we wanted to do was get our heads straight as fast as possible, since we didn't want even a second of the show to be "herb hazed." The concert was that good. And yes, I'm that old.

The KIngs of Rock and Roll 1975 style.
Another live masterpiece from the greatest rock and roll band in the world back in the 70s and to this day. This is the tour of the USA a year prior to the 1976 tour of Europe. The 1976 tour spawned the official live album--'Love You Live but this 75 gig at the LA Forum sounds better than the 76 official album. From the word go Keith's high adrenalin/serotonin energy levels pump away on the intro to Honky Tonk Women. This would have sufficed if played for 2 hours, It lasts for a while as the stage for that and the 76 tour unfolded like a flower and did not progress until the audience could see the band. This, or any of the 75 USA Tour may not have been officially released due to the silly ex Record Company (If they hadn't bled the Stones enough already) not allowing the Stones to release their back catalogue Rolling Stones records. That was the case for the 72 USA tour and 73 European tour.Since 1976 the band were ok to release live albums again but The Stones seem to play better when they are not aware of being recorded as this album proves. Ronnie Wood was in at the deep end and played Stones songs from 68 to 75 brilliantly, to say he had only recentlyjoined the band. His slide playing second to none. The interaction between the guitar's of Keith and Ronnie was first realised on this tour, a continuation of the weaving that Keith did with Brian Jones prior to 1968 rather than the Rhythm guitar Keith, Lead Mick Taylor from 69 to 74.The Stones are the only band that have released various live albums with many a track featuring on every one due to the fact they play them differently every time and always have some new magic about them.Like most of the Stones music, a must for Stones fans or a souvenir for USA fans who saw this tour. The track listing performance much the same as Love you Live but played with more feel, energy and more relaxed due to not knowing it was being recorded and to say this was originally a Bootleg the sound quality is superb.I wished I had been at The L A Forum that night..

I never talked to Chuck Berry" だの、"

Stones Awsome in 1975!
This is a great show by the Stones but the DVD has it's limits. I have a VHS bootleg of this show and the picture on this DVD is not much better. The sound gets about a 7.5 but, again, the show is great. You get songs in this set that the Stones have not played live since. Finger Print File, Dodododo heartbreaker, Star Star are all here. Not the most famous of their songs but great none the less. The DVD runs about 2 hours and 20 minutes. The picture here is not as good as the Hampton show released on Blu ray a couple of weeks back. There is a reason why this is DVD only. If you demand a super sharp and clear image go elsewhere. If you are a Stones or just music diehard then this is for you. You know what I think I will watch it again!

Similar to Love you Live, but a great album from a great era of the Stones
Always fun to hear the additional songs from the Stones of that era, that did not in this case, appear on Love you Live
