Knitter's PrideGinger Deluxe Interchangeable Needles Set

This set includes size US 3 (3.25 mm) to US 17 (12mm) which is great because it works with my lace and socks; but also the large bulk yarn projects that I do occasionally but all the time. I’m used to working with Knit a Picks metal knitting needles and I love them . Those are slick and do not warm so they do not work with my arthritis. I have been knitting for 24 years and also am a designer. Working with wooden needles was not my favorite because they broke so easy. I decided to take a chance on this set because they had a look and the case was great. I know, not a good reason to purchase a new set but I really did need a new one too. : )I am SO happy with the Ginger Needles. They are slick like my metal ones, but not too much. The size US 7 was able to handle my style of knitting without braking too. The color is great but more importantly they are easy to work with and warm on my hands. Even the lower number needles have been strong enough for my tight, hard knitting style. I never thought I would try wood again but these have changed my mind. I may even get the other sets of Ginger Double Point set and Crochet set.The cables also have two connectors to make your cable large enough to hold an Afghan.There is a pen included that works well. It is a twist type with a pocket clip. It does come apart to replace ink. The pattern board is very nice. The magnetic backing comes with three small magnets and one bar. It is strong enough to hold an opened pamphlet type booklet. The pattern can be left in place and will be protected when the set is folded up.Now for the bad but with a solution: I do not really care for the cables. They are very curled and stiff. They also twist to much, but I found that if you place it under hot water it will help straighten the cable. I do wish that the cables were softer, but they are close to Knit Picks cables. Contrary to some reports, the Knit Picks cables do NOT work with this set. You may be able to force it but you take the chance of stripping the threads in the interchangeable needle.

I knit ALOT...like a sweater every month or two....fair isle, lace, cables...you name it. I own all the sets by all the major companies, namely Addi, Chiaogoo, Kollage, Knitter's Pride, Clover...Without a doubt, this ginger set by Knitter's Pride is my favorite (followed by the Chiaogoo set). The needles are perfect for lace, pointy enough but with enough grip that your stitches don't slip off. The cables are very nice (not as nice as Chiaogoo in terms of flexibility and not curling up but then no company's cables are as nice as Chiaogoo!) but they remain kink free and flexible even when I attached two of the cords together to make a super long cord. Joins are super smooth and I do use the T-pin and a silicone grippy to tighten my needles and they never come undone. Wood is smooth and wonderful to work with. Quality is excellent. The case is ingenious in that it is also a magnetic pattern holder, you get a bunch of stitch markers in different sizes that I liked so much, I went and ordered a box of them. Case is very nice. This is a wonderful set!

This is a great product. It includes most of the basic supplies you could want and stores everything in a common-sense and easily accessible manner. The needles are perfectly pointed (neither too dull nor too sharp), look nice, and feel comfortable in my hands. The little pouch holds all the small tools that will stray off otherwise (stitch markers, cable connectors, those little 'wrenches' that inevitably and mysteriously turn into paperclips...).I thought the "magnetic pattern holder" was an absurd feature when I bought it, but figured there was no need to use it. I was, of course, wildly wrong. That's one of the nicest bits. Makes it so easy to keep the pattern out of the way and yet easily referenced.I do wish there was a better method for storing spare cables in a logical manner. Right now, they're all curled up and shoved in the gear pocket, which works but is awkward. For one thing, every time you get anything else out of the pocket, you have to deal with the cables trying to escape. Still, this is a small thing and doesn't really detract from an otherwise excellent product.Well, I also find the very concept of 'vegan leather' profoundly unsettling, but that's just a personal matter.

I bit the bullet and bought this set as my first big girl/serious knitter purchase, and I'm so happy with it. A knitter I follow on IG recommended these (@karas.knit.eng - she has wonderful patterns and tips) and these are actually my first circular needles. I've only used cheap aluminum needles and had one pair of Clover Takumi needles (size 13) prior to this purchase.The needles in this set are super smooth and easy to work with. I no longer have to worry about not having a needle size if I want to try a new pattern. Comes with 3 different cord lengths (2 of each) and lots of accessories. Case itself is magnetic if you want to put up your pattern. It also comes with a PEN that matches the needles and it's a pretty good pen.Definitely worth the upfront cost, and you get more than your money's worth.

I ordered these from amazon seller WEBS, and it was shipped priority same day. I have been knitting a sweater with them for about a week. I love them, they are super smooth and feel really good in the hand. I was knitting with a really cheap set of Bamboo needles, which were fine but the yarn would get snagged on the join. This set has a cord key (6 included) so you don't have to worry about the cords getting undone while you are knitting which is why I didn't pick the set from clover or aldi. If you are new to all this like I am there is a video on youtube showing how use the cord keys from Knitters pride work. I was debating the one from Lykke, but I liked that this one has a few extras like stitch markers and pattern holder. I like that this comes from an established company so I can always buy cords in the future. Also highly recommend the seller WEBS, they were really helpful with a shipping problem I had.

I have been knitting since I was 14yrs old…i have several sets of straight n circular needles….some have cost me over $300 for the set…..trying this brand for the first time n am BLOWN away…the veneer on these needles make them the SMOOTHEST i have ever used…am 65yrs now, slight arthritis in my fingers n this set is like medicine…..the yarn slides so easily with each stitch made….am going to buy a second set as I have multiple projects going n switch between them so as to not get bored…my only question is, is there a set of straight needles with this finish…would purchase said in a NY minute

I brought this as a gift.I haven’t stopped hearing how good they are.The kit comes with everything needle related to begin knitting.It comes with most of the common needles sizes and with a selection of different length cables for knitting in the round.It has cable stoppers as well so you can switch to a new project while keeping the other one on the cable to pick up later.It all packs up in a beautiful leather case to protect you needles. It also has a spot to put your printed patten(if you still do that) and make notes with the pen provided.Definitely recommend them as a company to buy from.The quality and finish is very well done and if you know a bit about the company that makes them, they were ethically made at the time of this review.
